Topics Covered:

The meeting was called to order at 2:50 p.m. by Chairperson , Jean Rosenfield.
The first order of business was the new AIP (Academic Improvement Plan). Mr. Núñez explained that this is a statewide initiative that we must adhere to. This plan allows for additional support for all ESOL Level 1 students, any Level 1 FCAT students, and any student earning a D or F on their report card. Ms. Muscarella provided us with a complete overview of this process. The AIP will identify students’ academic performance and implement various strategies in order to accelerate their academic progress. Level 1 is the priority at this time. Students’ grades will be monitored every nine weeks so that strategies can be established and put in place. Ms. Muscarella is an excellent statatician and will be conducting a ten year study with these statistics.

Dr. Michael Krop has several Silver Knight nominees. The awards ceremony will be held Jan. 27, 04. Ms. Rosenfield is working diligently with our students in preparing them for this prestigious event.

Mr. Núñez announced that we have three new Nationally Board Certified teachers.
They are; Audrey Silverman, Mary Kay Sullivan, and Thomas Mclean.
Kudos to these teachers for a job well done.

Our PTSA will meet Wednesday, Dec. 17, 03. This will be the last meeting of the year.

Our next EESAC meeting is scheduled for January 7, 04 at 2:45 p.m. in the Media Center.
