Topics Covered:

1. Approval of Minutes: The EESAC minutes were approved.
2. School Improvement Plan (SIP) 2010-2011:
The School Improvement Plan (SIP) is being updated with the recommendations for the 2011-2012 school year from the District. The revisions are due on September 23, 2011. The published document will be available in September.
3. School Operations:
Due to budgetary constraints, the library will not be available for book check-out. Ms. Klein has suggested that teachers read aloud to their students after lunch and allow their students access to your classroom libraries. Pre-Kindergarten through Second Grade will not have access to the library for “story time” during this transition. Without a library clerk it would be difficult to keep track of the library’s current collection. More information will be available after the school’s budget conference which is scheduled for the end of September. Monies may be allocated to the school at that time based on the number of students in the building.
4. Curriculum Issues:
Attendance/Tardies: Ms. Klein is asking that suggestions be given to her for a school wide incentive plan that rewards students for their attendance and punctuality. Materials for a possible program will be distributed to the EESAC for their review. Please contact your EESAC Representative (Primary or Intermediate) for more information. Additionally, Ms. Klein has spoken with the private bus drivers to encourage that they bring the students on time every day. They are working with the school to comply.
5. Budget:
EESAC budget for the 2011-2012 school year is contingent upon enrollment and last year’s “roll-over” amount. Amount to be disclosed.
6. Title I: We are a Title I school. Ms. Peña has been hired for the science lab and as an interventionist.
7. New Business:
EESAC meetings will now be held after dismissal at 3:30 p.m. Those staff members who work for Easter Seals will not be accommodated.
NOTE: The District has scheduled Open House on September 8, 2011. The time will be announced.
8. Following a call for "Questions, Comments, and Concerns," the meeting was adjourned at 3:20 p.m.
