SIP Review/Updates
• Dr. Riaz: In reference to our School Improvement Plan, we were asked to identify the barriers of what is being taught to compare to the alignment. This was done by teacher’s lesson plans and administration walk-throughs. When you look at it all, we were in compliance with the state.
• Dr. Riaz: We held a faculty meeting yesterday regarding the Florida School Recognition Funds. There were two plans to vote for (Plan A: Tier 1(Certified) to receive $920 and Tier 11 (Non-Certified) to receive $420. Plan B: Tier 1(Certified) to receive $975 and Tier 11 (Non-Certified) to receive $345.75). As a result, majority of the faculty voted for Plan A which was for Tier 1 (Certified) to receive $920 and Tier 11 (Non-Certified) to receive $420.
• Dr. Riaz: Is everyone in agreement to send the results of the vote to the Region?
• All in attendance agreed that it was ok to send out.
• Dr. Riaz: We had our Mid-Year Reflection take place in the media center. The data chat was held with the upper grade teachers and each teacher’s ideas were taken into consideration for improvements to create strategic planning.
• Dr. Riaz: Our school plan has one goal: To increase student achievement in all content areas. But the goal was not achieved. However, it is work in progress.
• Dr. Riaz: Also, when the Science data is complete, we can update the Mid-Year Reflection.
RtI (Response to Intervention):
• Mrs. Grisales: Last week we had a meeting regarding the RtI’s. Ms. Rodriguez is going through the process and looking at which students need to be tested and identifying students who are still in need of help. We are still looking at which students will be actually going through the RtI process.
School Operations –
Budget Updates:
• Dr. Riaz: We have two instructional positions opened. We have interviewed a person, but still have not found a person qualified.
• Dr. Riaz: We are still looking for a landscaper. The bids are not feasible to our budget. Mr. Roan has recommended a person and we are in the process of hiring the lady.
• Dr. Riaz: We are addressing the cleanliness in the classrooms by grade levels. The rooms that need special attention will be attended to first. Upper grades will need to be done soon due testing approaching very soon.

Curriculum Issues
• Mrs. Quintero: Any curriculum issues? No curriculum issues reported.
• Dr. Riaz: We are looking to open Saturday school for six Saturdays. This will start in February and go on until Spring Break (March).
• Mrs. Rosario: Who is eligible for the six class sessions?
• Dr. Riaz: All 4th and 5th grade students.
• Dr. Riaz: We have so many math teachers interested and now we are specifically looking for Reading teachers. We asked ETO for $3,000 and this will cover 2/3rds of our Saturday Academy. If ETO doesn’t give us the money will probably will have less monies to cover the purchase of our new computers.
• Dr. Riaz: Regarding the computers in the classrooms, we are starting to replace the computers and are addressing the issues by grade levels. K/1st grades are in bad shape with the computers they have now. However, we will give K/1st grade maybe not all new computers but good working computers and a few new to 2nd grade, but each grade will have good working computers.
• Dr. Riaz: We want to purchase laptop carts for 3rd – 5th grades with the extra money because they are doing computer base testing.
Title I
• Mrs. Quintero: Are there any Title I business?
• Mrs. Rosario: There is none.

New Business –
• Mrs. Quintero: Is there any new business?
• No one replied, so there is no new business.

Comments/Concerns –
• Mrs. Quintero: Any comments/concerns?
• No one replied, so there are no comments/concerns.
• Mrs. Quintero motioned for the meeting to be adjourned.
• Mrs. Rosario seconded the motion.

Meeting adjourned at 5:05 pm.
