Welcome
Welcome to our school Lynn Baur and Jason Bryce from the Coral Gables Kiwanis Club. We would like to form a long lasting partnership with The Coral Gables Kiwanis Club that would benefit all students in our school. (Riaz)

SIP Review/Updates
We are still reinforcing best practices during common planning. (Quintero)

RTI/Leadership Teams Reviews/Updates

Goals and strategies
We submitted the final SIP. (Riaz)
What is that? (Bryce)
The SIP stands for the School Improvement Plan and that is our plan to improve student achievement. For example, one of our goals was if we increase student content achievement will increase. We noticed when we started the school year one of our barriers was that the teachers were not using data to differentiate instruction effectively. Each teacher is using a different set of materials to meet the needs of their students. (Riaz)

iReady
iReady is the assessment we use to monitor student progress. We project that after we finish FSA testing (May 5th,2017) we should begin Diagnostic #3 testing on May 8th, 2017. Our reading proficiency as a school score has increased from about 31.2% to 38.5% and our math proficiency as a school score has decreased from about 37% to 36.6%. Our goal for each one is 40%. (Riaz)

Math Topic Assessments
We have taught all content material provided by the pacing guide so now we are doing a spiral review. We currently have a 65% correct school average on all topic assessments. Science has always been a challenge but this year the fifth grade class has a 54% proficiency. Our target is 40% proficiency. (Riaz)

FSA Weekly Assessments

We are currently assessing 4th and 5th graders bi-weekly on the computers to simulate the FSA which is on a computer. (Riaz)
We started at the beginning of the year. The students have shown improvement in testing on the computers. (Quintero)

Professional Development Opportunities
No changes. Tomorrow we will be hosting a k-1 i-Ready workshop to inform those teachers about the new things i -Ready has. (Riaz)

RTI
RTI is Response to Intervention. It is starting to close up. We will carry forward to the next school year the cases that we will not be able to close. (Riaz)

Open Forum/ Discussions
School operations

We would like to thank everyone who came to the Superintendents walk. We will get 80% of whatever was paid. Thanks to Ms. C Moore we stood out with our lime green shirts. We hope to show a strong force the next school year. (Riaz)

Give Day
There are major landscaping renovations taking place in our school. Royal Caribbean is re-landscaping the entire school and re-sodding it as well. They have chosen environmental trees that do not require much maintenance. They will even re-sod the entire P.E. Field. The colors that will be used for the exterior of the building are Tundra Frost and two shades of blue. (Riaz)
Will they paint the doors? (Hernandez)
They will paint the doors on the outside. During the summer they will paint the inside of the doors. We are encouraging all staff members to come support this cause. Catering, shirts and even childcare will be provided. We were unable to invite students and parents because the district is unsure if the liability insurance would cover anything because of the Jessica Lunsford Act. So we are planning to have a second event with students and parents. (Riaz)

Curriculum issues
We have testing all throughout May 5th,2017. (Riaz)

Budget and Personnel Reviews/Updates
We have asked our custodians if we could limit hours during the summer to have sufficient budget for the interventionist the next school year. They have agreed. We have spent our EESAC Budget of $3,600 on agendas ($1,000), awards ($600) and journals ($1,500). (Riaz)
Is that your budget for the whole year? (Baur)
Actually a little less, we had some money left over from last year. (Riaz)

Title I
Our parent Ana Martinez was awarded for being part of EESAC and the Parent Academy. We have no more updates. (Rosario)

New Business
Our fifth grade class is selling shirts to support the fifth grade fieldtrip to Disney World. They would like to ask the students to bring $20 for the fieldtrip to spend at Disney World. They are really close to making it a free field trip for our fifth graders. Royal Caribbean donated some money to help towards the trip. (Riaz)
Comments/ Concerns:
We would like to know what we need to do to get the vending machine back in the teachers’ lounge. (C. Moore)
I will look into it. (Riaz)

We are currently lack P.E. while Mr. Gainer is sick. We hope he will be back next week. Field Day this year will be more teacher driven. We would like to start a committee of teachers to plan the Field Day activities this year since we do not know when Mr. Gainer will be back. Field Day will take place May 11th and May 12th. (Riaz)
Are there snacks and refreshments provided for that event? (Baur)
No, usually teachers bring in water bottles and snacks for the children themselves. (Rosario)
We would like to provide water, juice, fruits like watermelon, mandarin and or oranges. (Baur)
That would be greatly appreciated. (Riaz)

Motion to adjourn (Quintero)
Motion carried (C. Moore)
Adjourned 4:00pm.
