School Improvement Process/Action Plan Reviews/ Data Updates
The school Improvement process was submitted and was approved.
-Quintero

We have just finished phase 2 and we are focusing on improving our school culture. We are working on rewards for staff members that are doing great things. We recently gave away three $25 gift cards to teachers that had perfect attendance the first nine weeks. We had a very generous donor assist us with this. We have been praising students who have had 100% attendance and 100% passing rate on iReady. We are also monitoring our intervention programs. -Galceran

iReady
I currently tested 10 of the 16 students that needed to make up their iReady reading test. The other 6 were sick so they couldn’t make up their testing. I am so proud of all the teachers and their hard work. We really had every class make gains on iReady! Some students even made two years growth! -Quintero

Yes! We are so proud of all the grade levels! They all went up and the kids are doing great! -Galceran

Math Topic Assessments
Have the bubble sheets been scanned yet? -Johnson

We are currently having an issue with the bubble sheets.
Ms. Nazzario will try to scan them again. This way we can use that data to start setting up our DI groups when we return back from break.-Quintero

We have a lot of data for the whole school and we will debrief accordingly during our data chats next week.-Galceran

Florida Standard Assessment Reading
We are going to use iReady data and the interventionists’ data to move students around during intervention to better fit their needs. We will also discuss DI grouping using this data and performance matters data during collaborative planning next week.-Quintero

Monthly Instructional Focus
We have decided to purchase the JJ Bootcamp resources for morning tutoring. The teachers like this better because it is tailored to fit the needs of the students. The representative came this week to train the teachers on this curriculum. -Galceran

Professional Development Opportunities
There are three new professional development opportunities being offered for our staff:
-Economics of Chocolate
-Mindful Kids Miami Programs
-Performance Matters Testing Platform Training via Live Webinars- I sent this email to the staff so they can look into this at their convenience. -Quintero

RTI / Leadership Team Reviews / Updates
We are currently meeting with many parents and having SST meetings. This is the time to refer the students who need assistance especially if you are planning on retaining them.-Galceran

I have been receiving many packets to start tier 3 interventions. -Quintero

Open Forum/ Discussion
School Operations
The air conditioning units that were broken have been fixed. Faucets as well. -Galceran

Curriculum issues
Next week we will look at all the data to decide which students will go into which groups for intervention and small group instruction in reading. So, for example if we have a student that went from yellow to green on iReady and is scoring 40% averages on the ACT intervention program they would not benefit from going to enrichment. Now if they are averaging 90% or higher there is enough data to move them. -Quintero

Can you print us the new diagnostic results to add to their DI Folders? -Jerry

Yes, I will ask Dr. Riaz if that is ok. -Quintero

Budget Reviews / Updates
Nothing to update! -Quintero

Title One
We are currently asking teachers to donate unwrapped toys to help with the toy drive for needy families. The last day is next week Tuesday. -Rosario

New business
We have finalized a partnership with 7-Eleven. They are donating books to our school and sponsoring us. -Galceran

We have not been selected as a targeted school for the 2018-2019 Attendance Boundary Committee. -Galceran

The information regarding Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Parent and Family Engagement Program Compliance Guidelines for Schools Implementing the 2018-2019 Title I schoolwide program has been posted on our school website. -Galceran

We also wanted to provide incentives for the bulletin boards since this year the grade levels have been changing them more often. We wanted to setup a committee that would vote for winners of the boards. -Galceran

Everything went well in DataCOM. -Galceran
