School improvement Process (SIP)
2019-2020 School Improvement Process (SIP) Approval
Teachers were sent the SIP and now we are going to make a motion to approve it. We are also working on the Parent and Family engagement plan which is due October 8, 2019-Quintero

2019-2020 Family and Community Engagement Practices
We are focusing on increasing our parental involvement. We wanted to start a parent club in order to do that.- Rosario

EESAC Roster Vacancies
Teacher: Secretary- Ms. Hernandez has shared her intentions of not holding that position anymore because of family issues, so it will be available. -Quintero

The diagnostic assessment began August 26 and it ends September 27,2019.-Quintero
Math topic assessments
We are in the process of finishing our topic 2. Topic one has been administered.-Nazario
FSA Weekly ASSESSMENTS- We will begin next week our first unit assessment. -Quintero
Monthly Instructional Focus
We are currently working on our focus for math and reading but we need all the students to finish iReady testing. -Quintero

The following are the professional development opportunities that are being offered:

MDC Reading endorsement- They will take anybody as long as you pay the $1,800 fee.

Curriculum Issues
We are still missing books for second grade. Teachers are making copies for the students. We found some old practice books that work for reading homework. Ms. Moore is currently using them.-Galceran

Budget Reviews/Updates
We just got word that the PTA will be purchasing boards for STEM! -Galceran

Comments/Concerns
We have major flooding in the front of the school and by bus pick up/drop-off area . We have called the city to clean the gutters and it still floods. If parents call 311 the city will keep coming to fix the issue. Ms. Grant took it upon herself to rake the leaves in that area to prevent clogging. Galceran
Are all the kids allowed on the playground for recess time? Rodriguez
Yes, it depends on the weather, the time and availability. Sometimes teachers have recess indoors.- Galceran
