School Improvement Process (SIP)
Approve the 2022-2023 SIP.
The first phase of the SIP is completed. Specific areas of focus being pushed are standards-aligned instruction, collaborative planning, walkthroughs and attendance. There is an Instructional Review scheduled for October 10th, where the ETO team will be coming out to see implementation of the first phase of the SIP. -Mr. Lazo

The By-laws have not changed and we will be using the same as last year- Ms. Quintero

Some changes have been made to the roster due to expiration of time in position. We have included Ms. Mesadieu as a parent, Ms. Delgado as our new alternate teacher, and Ms. Flores as the new Alternate Education Support. Updates
F.A.S.T PM1
We are almost done. We have a few makeups pending and scheduled for tomorrow. The testing window for VPK closes on the 29th, while the rest of the grade levels close on the 30th. - Dr. Galceran
iReady: Diagnostic Window AP1
The window for iReady AP1 runs from September 19th through October 21st. We will begin iReady testing on Tuesday, September 27th. - Dr. Galceran

RtI/Leadership Team Reviews/Updates
The SST process has been ongoing, but we have an agenda already. We should begin in about two weeks. We have a waiting list of about 19 students when we normally reach 25 for the entire year. We have a high fluctuation of students with needs this year. - Dr. Galceran

Open Forum/Discussion
School Operations: We have passed the custodial sanitation audit and we are rewarding the custodial team with a complimentary lunch tomorrow. -Mr. Lazo
What areas were inspected? - Ms. Thompson
Landscaping, classroom floors, floor corners, edges, vents, and closets just to name a few. - Mr. Lazo
There are still AC units down in 4 rooms, which I continue to insist to the district for resolution. Status is pending. - Mr. Lazo

Curriculum Issues: We are still waiting for the remaining student math books that are needed in second grade. In the mean time, I am providing teachers with paper copies by chapter - Ms. Nazario

Budget Reviews/ Updates
EESAC Funds: We are asking to use the funds in the EESAC account for student incentives. Are all in favor? - Ms. Quintero
I- All.

Title I-Title 1 funds are being used for teachers in support of student learning, and our CIS, Ms. Rosario. We will also be using the funds for Title 1 morning tutoring. Does anyone have any other thoughts on how the funds should be used? - Mr. Lazo
All agree with how they are currently being used. No further suggestions
available.
Title I PFEP and Compact are documents developed with input from all stakeholders to provide opportunities for parental involvement in education. These opportunities are provided through conferences, report cards, ceremonies, school activities, STEM Showcases and others. Does anyone have other suggestions? - Dr. Galceran
No further suggestions were offered.
Project Up-Start - Please let us know if you know of any families at our school in need of assistance with shelter or any other issues. New families get the forms and the forms went home with every student. - Dr. Galceran

New Business
21 students have turned in their applications for 5000 Role Models. The final deadline is tomorrow and the boys are all very excited. - Ms. Welch

We have 275 pairs of shoes and coats for our students up to size large, being donated in October - Ms. Rosario

Comments/ Concerns
Why are classroom floors not being swept? - Ms. Jerry
We have a custodian shortage, but we hired a lead custodian who is to begin soon. Mr. Walker is also coming back from an operation. We are also in the midst of looking to hire a part-time custodian. So that issue should be resolved very soon. - Mr. Lazo
