3. Welcome to 1st EESAC meeting of the 2014-2015 school year
4. Update by Principal
a. High performing charter school
• 4th graders ranked 2nd in District and 6th in the State in FCAT Writing
• 5th graders ranked 2nd in district in FCAT Math
• 5th graders ranked 4th in district in FCAT Science
b. School website www.matereast.org
c. Current enrollment at 634
d. Early intervention program: for qualifying students in grades 2nd through 5th
• 2nd grade will start on October 21, 2014
• 3rd-5th grade started on October 6, 2014
e. Open House took place on September 25, 2014
f. Mc.Donalds Back to School Night Fundraiser took place August 27, 2014
g. Hispanic Heritage Festival will take place on October 15, 2014
g. M.A.E. re-enters partnerships with the following organizations for the 2014-2015:
• Jose Marti Park
• McDonald’s Restaurant
• Amigos for Kids
• Common Threads
• Publix Supermarket
5. FCAT Rewards Updates
• Recognition award funds for being an “A” school for the 2013-2014 school year: EESAC came to a consensus that FSRP funds will be distributed amongst all staff members as an incentive when funds are available.
• Student reward for all students scoring a 3 or higher on all areas of the FCAT 2.0 will go on annual fieldtrip to Walt Disney World
• Student reward for all students scoring a 5 or higher on all areas of the FCAT 2.0 will be a $500.00 gift card
6. Update by EESAC members
• SIP was reviewed by EESAC members prior to attending SIP Peer Review Meeting
• SIP was reviewed and approved by EESAC members after attending SIP Peer Review Meeting
• EESAC roster approved by members
• EESAC members came to a consensus that the EESAC funds will be used to purchase afterschool tutoring materials/Florida Coach
• EESAC members reviewed and approved By Laws
