1. Call to order and establish quorum
2. Approved: Committee approved resignation of Vicki Leiva, Elizabeth Murillo, Antonio Vazquez, Roberto Lores
3. Approved: Newly elected members: Monica Gonzalez, Melanie Detrinidad, Bryan Antunez, Jonathan John
4. Welcome to first EESAC meeting of the 18-19 school year.
5. Updates by Principal
a. High Performing Charter School for 14th consecutive year.
b. Current Enrollment: 491
c. Early Intervention Tutoring Program: for qualifying students in grades three through five and will begin on October 8th, 2018.
d. Hispanic Heritage Festival: TBA (October)
e. MAE continues to partner with the following organizations for the 2018-2019 school year:
i. Amigos for Kids
ii. Common Threads
iii. Publix
iv. City of Miami Parks and Rec.
f. Open House scheduled for September 26th, 2018
g. Lunch application Meetings on September 5th to assist parents in filling out their lunch application forms. Flexible meetings were held throughout the day to accommodate all parents.
h. After school activities for the 2018-2019 school year: Cheerleading, FFEA, Chess, Cooking, Science Club, Art Club, Music Club and Fitness Program for students
6. FSA Rewards Update
a. Recognition award funds for being an “A” school for the 2017-2018. EESAC Committee came to a consensus; FSRP funds will be distributed amongst all current employees actively working at an Academica managed school at the time of disbursement.
7. Title I Funds
a. MAE was awarded: $278,400 for the 18-19 school year.
b. Committee reviewed the Title I budget for the 18-19 school year. Committee suggested supplies funds be used to purchase supplemental Reading and Math work texts.
c. Approved: Committee came to consensus that supplies funds will be used to purchase supplemental reading and math work texts.
d. Approved: Title I Budget was approved by all committee members
8. Updates by EESAC members
a. SIP Phase I and II was reviewed and necessary changes were made.
i. PFEP for the 18-19 was reviewed and completed.
ii. Approved: PFEP for the 18-19 school year.
iii. Approved: SIP Phase I and II for the 18-19 school year.
iv. Approved: SIP signature page was signed by all required members.
b. Roster was reviewed and approved by EESAC members.
c. Approved: Members came to a consensus that funds will be used to purchase afterschool tutoring materials
d. Approved: Members reviewed and approved By Laws
e. Approved: Members reviewed and approved Assurance Checklist
