1. Meeting was called to order and quorum was established.
2. Approved: Minutes from January 28, 2021 EESAC Meeting
3. Welcome to third EESAC meeting of the 20-21 school year.
4. Updates by Principal
a. Conducted FSA and SAT Parent Workshops for grades K-5 lead by school Principal, Assistant Principal, teachers and counselor throughout the month of February and March.
b. After school tutoring resumed and is taking place for grades Kinder -5 through April 29, 2021.
c. Third Nine Weeks Honor Roll Award Ceremony: April 23, 2021
i. Students on the Honor Roll were invited to attend the ceremony via Zoom with the Principal and administrators and will be recognized with an award.
d. FSA Pep Rally took place on March 18, 2021.
i. Approved: Final schedule of events
e. Title I Chess Competition -20-21 Central Region Tournament
i. Mater Academy East won 1st Place in the Team Competition
ii. Individual Winners:
1. Isaac Castro-4th Place
f. School Climate Surveys
i. The School Climate Surveys are an integral part of the District’s efforts to promote school improvement and educational accountability. The purpose of these surveys is to gather information regarding what these groups think about the school and their perceptions concerning how the school can be improved.
g. End of Year Graduation
i. Kinder and 5th Grade
ii. Pre-planning stages
iii. Scheduled for May 2021
5. FSA Rewards Update
a. Approved: Recognition award funds for being an “A” school for the 2019-2020 (if applicable). EESAC Committee came to a consensus; FSRP funds will be distributed amongst all current employees actively working at an Academica managed school at the time of disbursement.
6. STEM Updates
a. MAE has entered into a partnership with Shake A Leg Miami
i. Mission: Shake-A-Leg Miami focuses on building an inclusive community built around water sports, the environment & personal fulfillment. Through a collaborative partnership, this program is designed to help develop independence, confidence, and fitness through participation in sailing, water & community sports, recreation, and educational programs. Shake a Leg seeks to utilize the marine environment to improve the health, education, and independence of our students, in an inclusive community setting.
ii. Students will be learning and engaging in enriching activities, including sailing, driving a powerboat, parts of a boat, kayaking, swims, STEM island nature walks, teamwork
