i. MAE is following the MDCPS Student Progression Plan in regards to instructional minutes and curriculum

h. Fire Safety Week: We will be having different activities throughout the month

j. UMater Campaign

ii. The uMater campaign is a net-work wide fundraiser with the goal to provide our students with unique enriching opportunities that will that will prepare them for success in college and career.
k. MAE continues to partner with the following organizations for the 2022-2023 school year:
i. Amigos for Kids
ii. Common Threads (STEM Program)
iii. City of Miami Parks and Rec.
iv. UF (STEM Program)
v. Centro Mater
vi. Shake-A-Leg Miami (For purposes of STEM and afterschool enrichment)
l. MAE has entered into additional partnerships with the following organizations for the 2022-2023 school year (for purposes of Afterschool Enrichment):
i. Key Biscayne Tennis Center
ii. Minds of Tomorrow (For purposes of STEM and Afterschool enrichment)
4. Title I Funds
a. Mater Academy East Elem Loc. 3100: received $268,045.00 of Title I funding for the 2022-2023 SY.
1. The majority of the funds will be allocated to a reading coach, a school counselor, and 2 paraprofessionals. The remaining funds will be allocated to software (i-Ready), teacher salary supplements and $3,595.00 will be used on parental involvement.
b. Mater Academy East Prep Loc. 7037: received $50,897.00 of Title I funding for the 2022-2023 SY.
1. 1. The majority of the funds will be allocated to a teacher and parental involvement.
d. Committee reviewed the Title I budget for the 22-23 school year.
e. Approved: Title I Budget was approved by all committee members
5. Updates by EESAC members
a. Roster was reviewed and approved by EESAC members.
b. Approved: Members reviewed and approved By Laws
c. Approved: Members reviewed and approved Assurance Checklist
d. SIP was reviewed
i. Approved: SIP for the 22-23 school year.
ii. Approved: SIP signature page was signed by all required members.
e. Approved: Members came to a consensus that EESAC funds will be used to purchase instructional materials
f. Parent Compact
i. Discuss the responsibilities of the school, parents, and students under the School-Parent Compact. Amend school parent compact utilizing parent feedback.
ii. Discuss Final updates to Parent Compact
iii. Discussion: EESAC came to consensus: Teachers will have completed their Parent Compact Communication Logs by February 17, 2023.
iv. Approved: EESAC came to consensus and approved final draft of Parent Compact.
g. PFEP
i. District PFEP for the 2022-2023 school year was reviewed and discussed
ii. School PFEP for the 22-23 was reviewed, discussed, and completed.
iii. Approved: School PFEP for the 22-23 school year.
h. Elections:
i. The following members will resign from their EESAC position for the 21-22 school year:
1. Emily Castro- Student Representative
2. Blake Inirio- Student Alternate
3. Julianne Klein- Parent
4. Jessica Aguilar- Teacher
5. Maria Valdez-Parent
ii. A motion was made to nominate the following staff/parents/students to the 22-23 EESAC Committee
1. Madison Flores- Student Representative
2. Steven Melendez- Student Alternate
3. Natalie Gonzalez- Teacher
4. Mayra Quintana- Parent
5. Lucelia Gasulla- Parent
iii. Approved: all nominees were unanimously elected by all voting members to serve on the 2022-2023 EESAC Committee.
6. FSA Rewards Update
a. Approved: Recognition award funds for being an “A” school for the 2021-2022 school year (if applicable). EESAC Committee came to a consensus; FSRP funds will be distributed amongst all current employees actively working at an Academica managed school at the time of disbursement.
