Approval of Last Meeting Minutes dated 11-30-11
Motion to approve the minutes – Irving Greenberg ---- Second by Susana Perez
APPROVED: The Board unanimously approved the EESAC meeting minutes from 11-30-11.

Discussion Items:

1. SIP Mid-Year Review----Alex Tamargo
We are currently working on the mid-year SIP. In January’s meeting we will review the final draft of the SIP.
2. Testing Update---Ada Garcia
We are still waiting for the district to release the mid-year writing prompts and as soon as they do we will reschedule our writing assessment for 8th and 10th grade students. Reading, Math and Science interims will begin on January 9th. Teachers will review for the interims the first week after the winter break.
3. Budget--- Alex Tamargo
The budget for all Mater schools was discussed during yesterday’s Board meeting. We have experienced a total of 10% cut this year which is about $900 per student. We expect to show a year-end surplus. This is because we are running a very tight budget. Title I and Race to the Top funds have helped with supplemental materials.
4. Guidance update ---Irv Greenberg
Many seniors are completing common college applications through EDU sites and these require us to scan and submit transcripts as PDF files. The guidance department will greatly benefit from a scanner for this purpose.
5. Facilities---Rey Breto
Installation of video cameras should be completed this Saturday along with an LCD monitor.
6. Athletics--- Jeff Frawley
Boys and Girls basketball season is in full swing. Each team now has a win. Girls do not play until next year and the boys have a couple more games before the winter break.
7. Activities---Susana Perez
• Honor Roll breakfast took place this morning with 59 students participating
• We are in the planning process for end of the year trips
• U Mater is having a Casino Night in January
• Title I Budgets---Alex Tamargo

Table was opened for questions, but there wasn’t any new business to discuss.
