Approval of Last Meeting Minutes dated 12-7-11
Motion to approve the minutes – Leony Martin ---- Second by Susana Perez
APPROVED: The Board unanimously approved the EESAC meeting minutes from 11-30-11.
Discussion Items:
1. Florida School Recognition Fund----Alex Tamargo
We are receiving $70 per student for a total of $15,540 from the Florida School Recognition Fund. We are proposing that these funds be used towards Faculty/Staff bonuses. Each of the 29 faculty members will receive $500, and the 9 staff members will receive $100.

APPROVED: The Board unanimously approved
2. Mid-Year SIP Data---Susana Perez
Ms. Perez reviewed the data for the Mid-Year SIP Review. Baseline scores were compared to Fall and Winter Interims. Based on extensive data analysis the following strategies will be implemented:
• Pull-Out Tutoring for the lowest 25% in Reading and Math
• Saturday School for Reading and Math
• After School Tutoring for 8th Grade Science, Biology, Algebra I and Geometry
• Pearson Writing Coach for 8th and 10th Grade
Two informational meetings were held to inform parents about the tutoring programs that their children will participate in. There was a good turn-out at both meetings. Parents that did not attend have been contacted by telephone.
Ms. Slater asked if students would be allowed to attend Saturday School for only 1 subject. Mr. Tamargo explained that students must attend for both Reading and Math.
3. Sports--- Alex Tamargo
Boys and girls basketball teams are participating in Districts. The baseball schedule has been finalized and the season begins on February 13th.
4. Guidance update ---Alex Tamargo
We are currently working on the master schedule for the 2012-2013 school-year.
It is our goal to increase the number of Advanced Placement Courses offered, as well as meaningful high school electives. We are also meeting with Doral College in an effort to provide our students with Dual-Enrollment opportunities. Student Subject Selection Meetings will take place in two weeks.
