Title I Review
Title I was here on Wednesday, March 21st for our annual compliance review and we passed for all three schools.
SIP
School Improvement Plan will be reviewed once again at the end of the school year. We are currently a Prevent I school as DA Status. As a school the plan is reviewed during the summer, when data for FCAT, CELLA, and EOC are released. At that time, programs are reviewed and next year’s plan is drafted.
Compliance Review
Deloise Brown from Charter School Operations was here on Monday, March 26th for our annual compliance review. She reviewed professional development, reading programs, professional development plans for teachers, progress monitoring plans for students, teacher observations, and lesson plans. She later visited classrooms to review different components of the compliance review.
Testing
FCAT Re-takers: April 9th, 10th, and 11th
FCAT for all other students: April 16th, 17th, and 18th
EOC Exams: Later in May /June
AP Testing: Scheduled for the first two weeks of May
Tutorials
Pull-out and afterschool tutoring are working nicely. Students for after school are meeting once a week for Algebra I, Geometry, Biology, and 8th Science. Saturday School is almost complete; only two more sessions to complete the tutorials. All sessions are working well.
Enrollment
We had a successful visit to Mater Academy East Elementary this month. We are still accepting applications for next year.
Curriculum and Budget
Subject selections have been issued to all students. Mr. Greenberg is currently inputting courses to run draft of the master schedule. We are currently looking into programs to purchase for next year already using the RTTT (Race to the Top Grant) funds. We just met with the representative from Achieve 3000, Rafael Villalobos, to have an overview of the program and discuss options and pricing. We have other scheduled visits from different program vendors during the upcoming months.
Athletics
Baseball team is currently in first place in the district and girls flag football season is also underway.
