Welcome
• Call to order 6:07pm
• Quorum established
• Approval of last meeting minutes
EESAC Applicants
• 40 applicants all that had emails were emailed
• 2 responded with emails about wanting to participate
• Alfredo Alberto – parent
• Millie Sanchez – business partner
• Added Student Government as part of EESAC to serve as student representatives
• Approval of EESAC rosters by all members, members not in attendance were emailed roster
Budget Outlook
• Cuts will create a $300 deficit per child
• State has issue more money in the FTE allocations; however, certain grants have been removed
• Official budgets have not been presented, will be discussed at next meeting
• Current enrollment is just under 726
Facilities
• Addition of new full-time security guard has facilitated class switches
• Surveillance cameras are established within and outside of the building
• Lunch program setup with middle then high school eating lunch is working smoothly.
• Addressed the fire alarm issues we were having at the beginning of the school year
• Schedule lock down and fire drills for this month
SIP Review
• Explained the new template used to identify data, needs, and barriers in Reading, Math, Science, and Writing for all demographic subgroups identified
• Shared updates to SIP with data and suggestions for changes presented at the District SIP Review meetings
• Presented final document to all members
• Approved by all EESAC members
Summer
• Current situation with middle schoolers failing to complete the Virtual School courses they signed up for in the summer
• Discussed options of holding back the students
• Follow-up discussed about communication with parents and explanation of the students current academic status
• Decision was to wait until December to check on completion of courses for students in this situation. Move students back to previous grade if not completed by the time frame. Currently looking at approximately 7 students in this situation.
Title I
• Pending Annual orientation meeting for more information
DA Status
• New EESAC schedule for this school year-quarterly meetings
• No longer DA status- significant improvements
• Funding sources have changes because improvements by have affected and we no longer have a Reading Coach
Guidance
• Conducting credit checks
• Volunteer hours for students need to be completed – 20 hours as a graduation requirement
Sports
• Basketball season will start on November 13th
• Soccer teams have been established and are currently playing in scrimmage games.
