EESAC Meeting – February 9, 2012

Minutes
The meeting commenced on Thursday, February 9th at 4:20 PM by EESAC chairperson
Ms. L. Belkin. The first item on the agenda was the review and approval of the minutes from the last meeting. The minutes were read, Ms. Melissa Martin motioned to approve the minutes and Ms. Covone second the motion; hence, minutes were approved. Ms. Belkin informed everyone that changes made to the bylaws will be presented at next meeting. Mr. Field, presented proposals for the Language Arts department as well as for the Book Club he sponsors. His proposal for the Language Arts department consisted of purchasing 12 Nook Tablets for teachers in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. These tablets will be used to create a cohort to support the School Improvement Plan’s (SIP) technology component, allowing teachers the opportunity to offer advanced real world learning opportunities for students. In reference to the Book Club Mr. Field sponsors, he would like some monies to be utilized in paying for a bus to transfer students to and from school to a specified movie theater to visually enhance the reading of “The Hunger Games”. The second item on the agenda was the voting for the proposals established by interested parties. The election process was in order of listing of summarized items as were presented to EESAC.

Lastly, comments and/or concerns were asked by Ms. L. Belkin to the student body representative, no comments mentioned. Ms. Covone motioned to adjourn the meeting and Ms. Melissa Martin second the motion, meeting concluded at 4:35 PM.
