EESAC Meeting – November 27, 2012
Minutes
The November 27, 2012 EESAC meeting commenced at 4:10 PM by Ms. Erika Leon. The first item on the agenda was the review and approval of the minutes from the previous EESAC meeting. The minutes were read, Ms. Covone motioned to approve the minutes and Ms. Belkin seconded the motion; hence, minutes were approved. The second item on the agenda was the SIP (School Improvement Plan). Presently all departments across all three grade levels are utilizing data to formulate lessons. In Language Arts, it was observed that Plot Elements is amongst the lowest benchmark and it is being reviewed through PLC meetings in their respective grade levels as well as orchestrating strategies to target such benchmark. Furthermore, Science and Math departments are continuously retesting their students in order to afford maintenance of skill and / or lowest benchmark. Ms. Lannie Rubio; student representative, spoke about writing performance and students being able to analyze their writing as it pertains to crucial writing components.
Final comments, concerns, and / or questions were requested by Ms. E. Leon; no response. Ms. Covone motioned to adjourn the meeting and Ms. Belkin seconded the motion, the meeting concluded at 4:24 PM.
