Meeting was called to order at 8:15 a.m.

Mrs. Miyar welcomed attendees and initiated introductions.

Review of the minutes. Mrs. Prado-Lima requests that minutes and agenda are sent out 72 hours prior to a meeting. Mrs. Curry-Coffee asked that her name be corrected in the minutes. Leon motioned to approve the minutes with corrections. Heras seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved with corrections.

Mrs. Miyar - EESAC Committee Chair Updates

A waiver was submitted to add six students to the official roster.
The waiver was denied because you can't have more students on the committee than parents.

No voting can transpire without Principal Prado-Lima in attendance.

We need to balance parents and students.
In May, we will submit a balanced list.
Mrs.Prado-Lima wants more students to attend EESAC meetings regularly.

Mr. Drubi was informed about the meeting but couldn't attend.

The Bylaws were updated as discussed.

The approved SIP was posted.

On November 16th, new members were added to the roster. The roster is current as of November 17th.

EESAC money should be spent to benefit all students.
Examples - It is okay to spend EESAC money on an Honor Roll Breakfast. It is not okay to use EESAC funds for Teams and Clubs.

EESAC money proposals - there is not enough money to open the floor for proposals. Money will be mainly used for incentives. Saturday school lunch is purchased with EESAC funds. Feel free to talk to Mrs. Prado-Lima about possible incentive ideas.

Mrs Prado-Lima - Principal’s Updates

We passed the sanitation audit on the first try for the first time in 4 years. Kudos to
Mr. Tuff.
Cleaning supplies have been ordered to last through July 1, 2018.

Mrs. McGraw was upgraded to full-time staff security. Mr. Evangelino is now part-time security. Ms. Lago serves as security and also helps an ESE student. Ms. Nicole serves apart of the security staff.

Ms.Vicky is now training to move over to the Registrar or Data Clerk position.

Mrs. Perez was upgraded to full-time Clerk.

We also have use of a School Officer.

School security and cleanliness is great.

Chillers were down 3 times in 8 days. This is a problem that we are attempting to solve.

Having difficulty finding an ESE paraprofessional. They must have an AA degree in Art. If you know of anyone, please make suggestions.

We are also looking for an ESE teacher. We found one woman through a hiring fair. She's debating on whether or not she will come to our school.

Officially, we have a band teacher. This year we’ve added Spanish, Italian, and Band to our list of electives. We are looking for a computer teacher for next year.

Magnet Update -
As of Wednesday, we have 125 applications. Soon we will be sending out 500 recruitment letters. Last year, the magnet fair didn't work. Parent tours were successful. We are trying to schedule 5 to 10 parent tours, two days a week.

December’s Feeder Pattern Winter Showcase will be featuring our Culinary program.

Mrs. Villazon is the region’s AP of the Year. Her packet will be turned in on Friday.

Ms. Hopkins is the CCMS Teacher of the Year. Her packet was submitted last week.

Honor Roll
Ice Cream Lunch Party to reduce time out of class.

Due to Hurricane Irma, several Teacher Planning Days and Early Release Days have been removed from the 2017-2018 calendar.

Currently, we have 2 new students from Puerto Rico.

In January, we want to give welcome baskets to newly registered students.

Mrs. Curry-Coffee helped with the website by giving over 20 suggestions for improvement.

Data chats with teachers will begin today.
Science and Civics are on pace.
Math and ELA needs to get on pace.

April 16th officially starts testing season.

Student updates

Shon Barthell
Yearbook is going well.
The right students will be focused enough to stay on task during the school day.
Fitness club with Mr. Fabal is going well.

Title 3 ESOL tutoring has been occuring in the morning and afternoon.
Science and ELA tutoring.

Mrs. Perez has a Parent Involvement Plan.
She wants to get the parents more involved.
We want to get PTSA back up and running.
It would be nice to say that this year’s awards ceremony was sponsored by PTSA.

When we have jeans day, we have a lot of students who dodge paying the $1.00 and do not get caught.

Next meeting will be held on December 19th, 2017. Meeting was adjourned at 9:01 a.m.
