The EXPO consists of two parts the first part is the Exhibition where we will present our two Magnets and Culinary Arts and Fine Arts The second part, we will showcase our performing arts in Dance and Band.

We do lock the perimeter, at this time 28 faculty and staff members have keys to unlock the perimeter gates. If there is an extreme emergency where any faculty needs to leave campus they can exit out of the Main Office.

We did have 3 out of the 4 Elementary Schools in our feeder pattern visit our campus, by far the showcasing of each classroom got better and better as the days went by. These Elementary Schools are Spanish Lakes, Charles Wynch and Joella Good. Palm Springs North chose not to participate.

Civics EOC night- Thursday November 15, 2018
Ms. Cannon added that we had 20 parents participate.

Ms. Leon will be spearheading our STEAM night which will take place January 16, 2019 at 5:30pm in our Cafetorium in collaboration with Miami Dade College. This will include all faculty and staff.

A recruitment letter has been sent to the parents of 780 incoming fifth graders. The letter was also sent out to the faculty so that they can be aware of the recruitment process. The letter concludes by inviting parents to our STEAM night On January 16, 2019 at our Cafetorium.

Two lunches have been implemented. This has allowed us to increase safety measures and students are not arriving to class late.

We are in the process of hiring a part time security. We are taking applications. Ms. Villazon will be interviewing along with Mr. Gutierrez to narrow down the candidates . Once this is done the interview committee will interview and chose one candidate.

Algebra Camp- Back to Basics took place this past Saturday, in collaboration with Ms. Hopkins she makes the flyers and picks the Saturday to conduct the Algebra Camp.

Ms. McGgraw our Security Monitor and our faculty member Ms. Stephen reached out to our faculty members and selected 16 young ladies that could benefit from a mentoring program which they called GEMS . The young ladies were invited to a lunch on November 1st, 2018. Also, several events will take place throughout the year to get these young ladies together and have faculty and community members give presentations.

Two no opt PD days Oct 26 and November 6. Country Club Middle School had a PD available on campus for both of these days. Not all Middle Schools did that for their teachers. It was very well attended. Our first PD was dedicated to data and IReady.
November 6 was dedicated to technology and started with MS. Leon discussing the new performance matters testing platform
Course offerings for 2019-2020 will increase in electives like Computer Science.

Attendance- Counselors were given the choice to pick a grade level and every day call the parents of students that are absent.
The Attendance plan will Ms. Scheives is assigned to 6th grade
Mr. Fabal is assigned to 7th grade and our Social Worker Mr. Casteledo was agreed to handle 8th grade. The counselor with the best attendance numbers will win at the end of the year.

The district has implemented Lock Down Drills and they give scenarios. For example, an Active Shooter. In the past we have never had to do this type of Lock Down Drills. Lock Down drills are not always tied to an intruder in the building. After every lockdown I meet with everyone who has a radio who is involved in making sure that everything is locked down, and we revised the Code Red, Code Yellow Procedures.

Incentives- Today our Honor roll Ceremony, which is spearheaded by Ms. Leon and sponsored by the EESAC will take place. Students will receive a donut and a certificate

Our community involvement specialist and parent Ms. Rivas added that her son will be part of the ceremony and did not eat breakfast because he was looking forward to eating his breakfast donut at school.
Student of the Month will also receive their reward, a $15 Burger King gift card.

Our school count is at 675 so we have increased in numbers. Our Budget Conference was on October 1st. Any increase in student numbers after October 1st will not go into the budget.

Ms. Leon created a spreadsheet that includes all the topic assessments for the year. For example, looking at Ms. Cannons Civics Mini Assessments, we can see that for Mini- Assessment 1 the school achieved a score of 69.2 and the district achieved 63. For the second Mini- Assessment the school achieved 78.6 and the District 54.3
Algebra, Geometry, Biology and Science are also included in the spreadsheet.
English Language Arts does not give a mini assessment. They have the I-Ready assessment which is not comparable to the test. This year we are implementing a writing assessment that the teachers are grading and incorporate that in our growth monitoring.
The writing assessment window will be from April 1st- April 12th . The official testing window begins May 1st this year until the last
week of May.
