This was an EESAC SPECIAL MEETING

Meeting Called to order at 5:00 pm

Jacqueline Villazon -AP

-We have met earlier in the year to discuss the School Improvement Plan
The SIP, drives what our goals are for the year. Based on data from last year, our goal this year is to increase our Math scoreS. The main focus is academics.
-In December we had a meeting with our leadership team and they did classroom walk-throughs in order to get ideas from teachers and give feedback.
-The most recent data that we have in I-Ready is that there was a 16% decrease in our Tier 3 students, which are the lowest performing students. In Math, there was a decrease of 13 percentage points, that indicates that our lower performing students are improving.
-The SIP asks "What is most concernig?" Right now there are students that are level 3,4,and 5 that are regressing. We now need to work closely with these students to make sure that they don't regress on the FSA that could be for a number of reasons, sometimes they know the material and feel too confident.
-Page 5 of SIP, based on current data we will be starting a tutoring program targeting Math, Algebra, Geometry and Reading. The target group for the school are the level 3,4,5 that dropped and the students that are close to becoming a level 3. All other students are welcome to attend as well.
- So far we have had data chats with the core subject area teachers regarding data and it is important for administrators to discuss this with them and ask the teachers what their goals and expectations are.
- Teachers have come up with great ideas. Civics, for example, will have camps. Reading teachers will have a writing camp.
-Page 7 of SIP- What is going on in Country Club Right Now? There is a new district mandated component to the Language Arts class which is "social emotional learning". The district is focusing on the emotional well being of students.
-Our success coach Mr. Fabal has started a club where he can work with students in small groups where they can share ideas and he can help them out.
-Page 9- Student Collaboration- We were not chosen for Middle School Redesign by the district. However, this year we chose to add a class called EDGE, which is part of Middle School Redesign. That class is also aimed at social emotional learning.
-Ms. Salinas, our school counselor, wants to focus on making a self-esteem wall on the second floor.
-Cane Cash Bucks is going to be used as incentives to reward students for I-Ready lessons completed.
-Page 10- Phase 4- Students in Biology assessment results show that they are at a district average.
-We will be doing in house camps before and after and on Saturday's.
-The school will conduct in house pull out programs, for students that can not come after school or Saturday.
-Media Center is open in the morning for students to do I-Ready.

Mr. Jose Carcomo -parent asked -How will students be targeted for Tutoring?
-Ms. Villazon -Students that are level 2 will be targeted, but any student is welcome to attend.

Mr. Crespo
PTSA is doing a Dominos Pizza fundraiser.
