The Coral Gables Senior High School EESAC meeting was called to order by Ms. Hofmann, chairman, at 2:50pm. A quorum was established. Introductions were made. Ms. Hyatt made a motion to accept the EESAC minutes of January 22, 2007 as presented. The motion was seconded. By consensus, EESAC accepted the EESAC minutes of January 22, 2007 as presented.

Ms. Otero stated that Ms. Munnerlyn will be presenting a two day workshop for students. She stated that biology, chemistry, and earth science questions will be on FCAT and the science teachers are making presentations to students of a final overview.

Ms. Gans stated that parent/teacher conferences will be held on March 21st from 12:30pm to 2:30pm and from 4:30pm to 8:30pm. This is an early release day and parents are encouraged to attend.

Ms. Gans stated that there will be a health clinic located in school beginning next school year. A social worker is already working 2-3 days per week. There will be a full time nurse (RN). The location of the clinic has not yet been determined.

Open Forum

Ms. Brisson announced that Andrew Navarro is the valedictorian for the senior class.

Ms. Gans stated that the Miami Metro Zoo personnel were very complimentary of the seniors that attended the Senior Class Picnic.

Ms. Hofmann stated that she had spoken with Anne Thompson and that agenda items from council members must be presented to the chairman five days prior to the meeting.

Ms. Levenstein announced that former Gov. Bush came to a car wash and had his car washed. He did take pictures with various students. She also announced that three students and Mr. Miret represented CGHS at the Walk for Autism.

Mr. Miret announced that the City of Coral Gables Community Relations Committee will meet on February 20th. He announced that sixty-five students voluntarily attended Saturday school. Student Activities donated gifts for incentives for students who voluntarily attend Saturday school.

Ms. Reitsma announced that Superintendent Rudy Crew will be the guest speaker at the next Coral Gables Chamber breakfast meeting.

Ms. Hofmann announced that the next EESAC meeting will be held on Monday, March 12th, at 2:45pm, in the Media Center. Ms. Hofmann adjourned the meeting at 3:20pm.
