Topics Covered:

The Coral Gables Senior High School EESAC meeting was called to order at 2:50pm, by Stephanie Hofmann, EESAC chairman. All attendees were introduced and a quorum was established. The minutes of the Jan 13, 2003 EESAC meeting were presented. By consensus, the minutes were approved as presented.

Ms. Reitsma stated that the EESAC bylaws committee has not had the opportunity to meet.

Ms. Hofmann stated that the Sterling committee visitation is scheduled for February 24, 2003. She explained the purpose of the Sterling Award. Mr. Zoller stated that the Business/ Education Committee of the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce meets the third Wednesday of the month and the chairperson is to speak about the Sterling Award in the upcoming meeting. Ms. Reitsma is a member of this committee and invited EESAC members to attend.

Ms. Hofmann stated that the parent survey is available in the main office.

Ms. Hofmann stated that the SPEP mid-year review will be presented to Region IV on February 24, 2003 by Mr. Martinez and Ms. Hofmann.

Ms. Hofmann presented the EESAC workshop dates for March. She suggested that EESAC members attend any of these workshops.

The SAT software is now available and ready for check out by students, in the Media Center. Ms. Collette stated that the Media Center is often closed and requested that coverage be available when there are gaps in the hours between day school and night school.

The SOS seminar for parents of ninth and tenth graders will be held on February 12,2003. A flyer was sent home with students and the notice was advertised in the Neighbors section of the Miami Herald.

The electronic grade book is up and running with 100% of grades posted. Grades were posted on January 28th. Feedback has been positive.

Gabriel Trujillo stated that there has been no further progress on the Honor Code. He would like to involve the under classmates because their schedules are less hectic and, they will be most impacted.

Ms. Hofmann announced that the next EESAC meeting will be held on Monday, March 3, 2003, at 2:45pm, in the Media Center. The meeting was adjourned by Ms. Hofmann, EESAC chairpers
