The Coral Gables senior High School EESAC meeting was called to order by Chairperson Stephanie Hofmann at 2:50 pm. A quorum was established. Introductions were made by all present. The minutes from the December 14, 2009 meeting were reviewed; there were no corrections. All present accepted the minutes. The agenda was issued.
I. SIP Updates- Ms. Munnerlyn and Ms Furnari gave highlights of the District SIP meeting two weeks ago, Crunch time schedules/calendars for Language Arts/Reading, Math and Science. There will be starting on Jan 4, 2010 30 minutes of Crunch times (reviewing the benchmarks, then teachers may teach their content material). PTSA parents asked for and were given types of incentives to possibly give to students attending Saturday tutoring. Mrs. Watson felt we should not consider detention students in the gift giving. Other parents felt Science should be present to discuss low scores. Ms. Hofmann explained that because of a prior commitment Dr. Mitchell could not be present. Ms. Otero discussed Science needs and progression.
