The Coral Gables Senior High School EESAC special meeting was called to order at 2:50pm, by Stephanie Hofmann, EESAC chairman. A quorum was established. Introductions were made. The minutes of the December 8, 2003 EESAC meeting were presented. Ms. Slingbaum made a motion to approve the minutes with corrections. The motion was seconded. By consensus, the minutes were approved with corrections.

Ms. Rodriguez stated that the $57,237.00 in EESAC funds includes a roll over of unspent funds from last year. She further stated that $11,956.64 of EESAC funds were used to purchase textbooks last year. The $3,830.00 allotted for the SAT Coach Program will not be used this year.

EESAC members discussed a motion to spend $7,200.00 of EESAC funds to purchase the Learning Express Online Grade 10 Preparation Program. This motion was made at the last EESAC meeting by Ms. Reitsma. Ms. Slingbaum made a motion to allot up to $10,000.00 of EESAC funds to purchase this program. The motion was seconded. By consensus, EESAC approved this expenditure.

Ms. Slingbaum made a motion to allocate $2400.00 of EESAC funds to purchase foreign language textbooks and dictionaries. The motion was seconded. By consensus, EESAC approved this expenditure.

Ms. Hofmann announced that the next regular EESAC meeting will be held on Monday, January 12, 2004, at 2:45pm, in the Media Center. Ms. Hofmann adjourned the meeting at 3:00pm.
