Topics Covered:

Review of March meeting-Quorum was not reached at the March meeting, therefore it was not recorded
Financial Statement: Ms Stauffer stated funds allocated for FCAT snacks were funded by another source and now we have a surplus.
Funding requests:
PTSA funded teacher appreciation lunch. They now have a $930.06 shortage. PTSA requested EESAC to finance. Motioned pass unanimously

PTSA made a second request through PTSA representative, Mary Muniz-Pellicer, for $80.00 to cover principal/principal designee, and teacher of the year to attend the Miami-Dade county council PTA awards ceremony on May 26 at Jungle Island. The $80 would be to cover 2 individuals at $40 each.
Ms Veronica Martin asked whether the $40 per individual would cover spouses.
Discussion ensued and it was determined that the teacher of the year’s spouse should be in attendance and covered, as well. Therefore, the new amount became $120 to cover Teacher of the Year, spouse and principal/designee. Motioned by Veronica Martin. Seconded by Ms Stauffer. Passed by unanimous consent.

By-laws
A review of the EESAC committee’s by-laws was entertained. Discussion: A 30 day notice required prior to a vote. By-laws previously reviewed in 2008. Ms Stauffer mentioned that we would likely have to wait until the beginning of next school year to conduct a proper review and vote of by-laws.
Discussion followed on how to properly set up for emergency, special meetings. It is presently unclear how to handle the 5 day notice period. The question of public participation in a short term meeting arose.

Student representatives questioned what the GPA minimum requirements would be to participate in the EESAC committee.
