Approval of minutes:
A. Minutes for the 04/10/2014 meeting were approved (1st - R. Luzardo & 2nd - R. Milliken) with the caveat that:
- A. Mirabal be classified as excused absent instead of unexcused absent
- The final balance be verified and reflects the actual amount after all grant applicants have exhausted their allotted funds.

Welcome by Mr. R. Luzardo

New business:
A. Mr. R. Luzardo reviewed the grant applicant purchases.
B. Ms. S. Challenger reviewed the 2013-2014 end of year school improvement plan.
• Goals in the areas of Reading and Math were not met
• Further work on the SIP will be completed at a later date
Old business:
• The April meeting minutes were finalized and APPROVED pending corrections.
Reports & Updates:
• Student updates:
o Prom will be held on May 17th at the Airport Hilton
o Yearbooks were being distributed
o Band Spring Concert will take place on May 22 from 6-8pm
• PTSA updates:
o N/A
• Faculty and Staff updates:
o NMB was recognized by Emerge America
• Administrative updates:
o FCAT testing is complete
o EOC testing will be soon be complete
o AP testing is currently taking place and will continue through the month of May
o The "Happy" video was a great success and is the yearbook, both of which were products lead by Mr. Parris
o Graduation will take place on June 2nd at 10am at the FIU Panther Arena
o Two students that passed away this year will be recognized during the commencement exercises
o Plans are beginning to have school clubs/organizations adopt areas of the school
• Community updates:
o Miami Dade College will conduct a "mini expo" on May 20th in the Media Center
