• meeting started at 3:02 and quorum met
• adhere to the agenda, review minutes (on the promethean) to start
• Ms. Gant asks if there are any objecitions and/or changes to b made. Then if there is a motion to accept
• vetiac motions to accept, renaldine seconds, all in favor to accept the minutes
• ms. Gant moves to go over the eesac budget. She has worked closely with ridore and the treasurer to keep track of the funds, who has been awarded funding and what is left in the account in spreadsheet form.
• Meeting stopped at 3:08 b/c lost quorum
• Quorum re-established at 3:15
• Going over the budget, we did not take into account that the school actually gets supplies cheaper than when individual teachers do. This explains the leftover funds that will be returning/never left the eesac account.
• Philip – says drama did not receive the full amount that they ordered
• Ms. Gant – says her full order was processed
• Mr. Milliken says not an eesac issue, it’s a supply/ordering issue and to be brought up with the vendor and/or treasurer
• Have a few teachers who have not submitted their items to be purchased.
• Ms. Gant did not use STEAM funds, she has spoken with other awardees and take care of their amounts.
• Document to be aware that we have not overspent
• Dr. Davis – wants to know if we can contact those who were not funded (b/c thought we were out of money) to see if we can fund them.
• Mr. Milliken – did not take into consideration the funds
• Ms. Martin – should be opened to everyone for funding
• Ms. Gant – only issue, is the next meeting is in mid-May, everything has to be purchased by a certain pt or it will be voided.
• Mr. Milliken – says to roll it over b/c of logistics with accounting and getting equipment. You can’t fund according to possible discounts
• Dr. Davis – says we turned people down.
• Ms. Gant – saying that we may have an audit exception if the funding
• Mr. Milliken – did this based on accurate njmbers
• Ms. Gant – if order in May
• Ms. Martin – wanted to know if the process is that ms. Powel has to search for a cheaper vendor
• Ms. Gant its actually when she orders the price is dropped b/c the school is what orderedit. Ms. Powell is the only one that has access
• Ms. Gant – moved to the SIP update
• Mr. Ridore – nothing to update since the mid-year, at this point the SIP is the same. Next update is at synergy
• Student leadeers
• Grad bash on april 27th
• Drama has poetry slam on wed april 25th; trying to get a senior showcase around may 10th but is still tentative.
• Would try to get it during the day instead of after school – will not charge for it.
• Mr. Milliken – said to check on availability first
• Renaldine – Took the SAT a few juniors did and found it very helpful
• Erick – finished working on yearbook. Will arrive on may 5th .
• PtSA = meeting this evening looking for students to take
• Miami-dade – hosting honor roll breakfast and on may 22nd on the STEAM Day.
• Faculty – Dr. Davis – well on the way in testing and
• Boeva – have great students capable of competing – Mojeed committed to UM HHMI scholarship for summer internship. Neica Joseph came in 6th out of 170 students. Alice Jitenor has been doing tutoring since he came to the school. Please congratulate thesese students when you see them
• Dr. Davis – Key club had their end of the year retreat – took 8 students.
• Ms. Gant – working on the new website for the school – the owner of the server is an alumni of NMB high school – saw an overview of the new website
• UTD – nothing to report
• Administration – Mr. Milliken – JROTC the girls came back 2x national championship.. Going to be recognized in Chicago as a magnet school of distinction. Testing going on, finished geometry, now starting with reading. A non reportable SAT for seniors was given a month ago for a concordant score. 24 out of 54 kids passed. Also gave a test to juniors, Our goal is to go into next year with less than 100 kids that need an FSA score.
• REnaldine asked if there is enough time
• Mr. Milliken said that there is if the kids are available to get the score. REallly wants to highlight the language arts and reading teachers who have worked hard with this. For juniors they can use as a reportable score. Silver knight nominees practiced yesterday with Mr. Milliken, there are 8 of them. Financial audit completed this past Monday with the auditor, normally what he says goes and when he left there are no audit exceptions. It is on ap’s, athletics, yearbook, SGA, FTE and Ms. Powell. District wants to start recognizing senior who are graduating to and going into the military. Have them go see Mr. Milliken and Mrs. Bertani
