Topics Covered:

• Quorum reached at 3:03 pm
• Ms. Gant says to stick to agenda, review of the minutes and see if there should be any corrections.
o Mr. Torres – should be corrected to say 2999 given to Mr. Milliken
o Correction of spelling errors for names.
o Dr. Davis entered @ 3:07
o Mr. Milliken motion to accept minutes with corrections, all were in favor with none opposed.
• Ms. Gant go over budget and previous awards. Balance for EESAC is currently $444.82
• Title I Ms. Mendieta will present
o Review plan how parents and families are included. Was done through Title I meeting on 10/3/18. Monitoring of attendance, homework completion and school activities.
o Involvement of parents done on the meeting on 10/3 and during EESAC meetings.
o Coordination and integration is Title III tutoring of students who are ELL students along with parent orientations and meetings.
o Advertise through apps, connected, flyers
o Evident through agenda of parent surveys completed on the 10/3, monthly reported attendance and notification letters.
o Dr. Curry entered 3:12
o Documentation of meeting is sign in sheets, parent’s surveys completed that day.
o Plan to assist with flexible parent meeting 8-12, 12-4, 4-7.
o Mr. Torres left at 3:14
o Mr. Torres and Gia Evans and entered at 3:19

o Dr. Davis Point of order Madame chair to check for quorum – have quorum
o Ms. Gant motion to accept the plan. Erick Rivers motioned to accept seconded by Ms. Martin with all in favor and none opposed.
• Ms. Gant go over funding requests. Had tabled from previous meeting
o Erick motion to reject Drama’s proposal that was tabled from last meeting and seconded by Janna Pinckney. All in favor with none opposed.
o Dr. Davis presenting for Ink for color printer of $758.88. To be used for silver knight awardees. Will change order to reflect what is left in the budget and will ask for $444.82.
o Gant open floor for discussion.
o Martin through project FIT – possible solution gives possible $200 to social studies department. Will do a JV transfer. Dr. Davis will now ask for 309.92. Would leave a balance in EESAC
o Gia Evans – question if they have the basic colors.
o Mr. Milliken – change the request to say to use the remaining balance to buy all the ink that we can.
o Discussion is closed, now brought towards a motion.
o Erick Rivers, motion to accept the proposal with Ms. Martin with Huldath seconding all in favor with none opposed.
o Student updates
 Erick Rivers is Mr. NMB and Dayjah Thezan is Mrs. NMB
 Janna – homecoming week, on the 10/18 will be hosting an alumni carnival from 5-8pm
o Parent update –
 no updates
o Community
 Dr. curry – talks about upward bound program which is doing enrichment.
 October 20th will have free college for a day.
 MDC is now an early voter site.
Project FIT has free clothes for anyone – secondhand store through the parent resource room. Spread the word.

Faculty and Staff
Ms. Boeva – Neica Joseph nominated for high academics with high SAT, ACT and being a state finalist 2x for the presidential award.
Ms. Gant – partnership with Sprint any student on free or reduced lunch can receive a free phone. No cost to the student or parent.

Administration
Mr. Milliken – conducted an IMPACT review (called the old IR instructional reviews) was on this past Tuesday. They were looking for student work in the folders and would like to see more work in the folders. They found the use of data and DI (differentiated instruction) was evident. Lesson plans were evident and aligned to instruction. On Thursday, hosted the North Region Meeting of Principals. Everyone was happy and JROTC did an outstanding job. Open House was on October 3rd, and was successful with helping to host. Have a feeder pattern expo, hosting District ICAD for science and October 20th have district

UTD
Buying into proposition 362 for the public to allow for an increase in teacher salary. Milliken ask teachers to inform students in a nonpartisan way.
