This meeting was called to order at 2:50 p.m.

1. A bilingual workshop for parents is being planned by the administration. This workshop will give parents general information. Special emphasis is being placed on servicing Creole-speaking parents.
2. Wendi Werther acknowledged the trilingual signs that have been placed on the outside of the school. She thanked Mr. Fontana.
3. Mr. Fontana announced the following activities that will be taking place at our school:
a. October 4 Dr. Crew will come to kick off ESE Week.
b. October 5 Open House Night
c. October 6 Town Hall Meeting. Dr. Crew will also be here.

4. The EESAC Committee reviewed the draft of the School Performance Excellence Plan. Committee members took the draft home to complete the Parental Involvement Section and to review the entire text again.
5. Carlos Sardinas moved to give $4,080 to Ms. Eisenberg to purchase The Miami Herald twice weekly for three months for the school wide reading program. Everyone seconded, and the purchase was approved unanimously.
6. The next meeting will be held September 9, 2004. This committee will meet on the second Thursday of each month.
