Minutes

Meeting was called to order at 3:08 pm by the acting Chair, Mrs. Veronica Martin. Mrs. Martin welcomed everyone to the first meeting of the 2021-2022 school year, and those in attendance to introduce themselves. A brief, but thorough overview of what EESAC represents was also given by Mrs. Martin.





EESAC Budget - Remaining Balance $5,850.06




Approval of the minutes from May 17th, Meeting

Dr. James Davis motioned to accept the minutes from the May 17th, 2021 meeting, and it was properly seconded by Mrs. A. Longley-Proctor. Minutes approved.


Election of new EESAC Officers

EESAC Chair/Vice Chair Nominations/Voting

Timarie Banos-nominated herself
Ralph Gedeon-nominated by Mrs. Veronica Martin

Mrs. Longley-Proctor motioned to close the nominations under the said names, Dr. James Davis seconded the motion.

Mr. Ralph Gedeon was elected by the body as the new EESAC chair for the 2021-2022 school year.

Th duties of the Vice Chair position of EESAC was explained by Mr. Milliken to the body, which included new faculty and student members.

Dr. James Davis motioned to elect Mrs. Veronica Martin as Vice Chair of EESAC, and Mr. Milliken seconded the nomination. The vote was unanimous. Mrs. Veronica Martin is Vice-Chair for EESAC for the 2021-2022 School Year.

Bylaws

The review and approval of the EESAC bylaws were discussed by Mrs. Veronica Martin. Making quorum was the focal point of the discussion, and the importance of all members being present.

Yeel Lee (Pres. NMB/NHS) motioned that the bylaws be accepted, and Timarie Banos (Pres. NMB.CC) seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Funding Request-Mrs. R. LaFrance

Review of a previously approved funding request (March 14th) for Mrs. LaFrance in the amount of $587.00 for a color printer. The funds will be made available to Mrs. LaFrance once the minutes from today’s meeting are submitted. Mr. Milliken further explained for new members the process for submitting a funding request, and the approval process. Mr. Brian Davis motioned to approve the funding request for Mrs. LaFrance, and it was seconded by Mr. Bernabe. Mr. Milliken further discussed the template for funding request and the form to submit.

Review/Approval of School Improvement Plan (SIP) Phase I & II-Mr. Billy Ridore, AP

Mr. Ridore did an abbreviated review of the School Improvement Plan. He thanked the teachers that took time out this summer to work on the SIP plan with him. The teachers on the SIP committee are Brian Davis, Ralph Gedeon, and Malfry Taylor. Motion to approve the SIP was made by Dr. James Davis and seconded by Mrs. Veronica Martin.
ESSAC Secretary Replacement-Dr. James Davis

Dr. Davis addressed the committee in reference to a replacement for Mrs. A. Longley-Proctor as secretary of EESAC. Mrs. Longley-Proctor will be retiring on Sept. 30th, 2021. Nominations for secretary were Timarie Banos and Vanessa Celestin. Mrs. Longley-Proctor gave a brief explanation of the duties of the EESAC secretary. The committee carried out the voting process, and Ms. Vanessa Celestin was unanimously voted in as the new EESAC secretary for the 2021-2022 School Year.

Faculty and Staff
 Mrs. V. Martin encouraged student leaders to take information presented back to their organizations.
 Mrs. Longley-Proctor expressed her appreciation and gratitude for having served on the EESAC as secretary. Mrs. Proctor will be retiring on September 30th, 2021 and gave some encouraging words of wisdom to the student leaders.
 Mr. Brian Davis announced the “Dads Drop your kids to school Day”, on Wednesday, September 22nd, 2021.

Administration
Mr. Ridore/Mr. Milliken expressed appreciation and gratitude to Mrs. Longley-Proctor for 37 years of service to the students of MDCPS.
 Glad to have students back in “physical” attendance
 Retake testing is under way for Juniors/Seniors
 Athletics is in full swing.
 Open House: September 29th, 2021
