Minutes

Meeting was called to order at 2:45pm by the acting Vice-Chair, Mrs. Veronica Martin and Mr. Gedeon. Mrs. Martin welcomed everyone to the third meeting of the 2021-2022 school year, and those in attendance to introduce themselves.

Motion to Approval of the minutes from September 29th ,2021 with correction of the date by Veronica Martin and seconded by Brian Davis.



EESAC Budget - Remaining Balance $2,851.06


Ms. Martin reiterated what the funding is available for and to go back to their organizations to come with request/ideas in ways that can be benefit the entire school.

Review/Approval of School Improvement Plan (SIP) Phase I & II-Mr. Billy Ridore, AP

No SIP updates. An Instructional Review took place October 26th District and school admin goes around to verify the information on the SIP is evident in the school. Overall we did pretty well with pacing, engagement, lesson plans etc. Waiting on further information for next steps

Michelle Currie Williams (MDC)
 Reminder for Black Rising Scholars Scholarship for Miami Dade (Full Tuition for MDC)
 Upward Bound has started with weekly activities on Tuesday and Thursday. Will be going on a field trip to Xtreme Action Park and giving a tour of the campus
 Still accepting applications. Received over 56 apps for 35 slots and have accepted 30 and still accepting. Focus is on 9th and 10th grade but open to Juniors and Seniors

Dr. Davis (National Honor Society)
 NHS 1st meeting after applications submitted with 12 members show up
 They finalized a schedule for tutoring will be presenting to admin
 Silver Knights nominations have been sent via email to Curriculum Council and chairpersons. Received 2 nominations and is still working to fill each spot

Brian Davis (5000 Role Models)
 Sponsor for 5000
 Had an in-school interest meeting about 50 boys participated. Hoping to host Tie ceremony the 2nd week of November for the induction.

Administration
 Milliken has a School Recognition Funds from 2012 that needs to be used in the total of around $48. Proposes spend it on supplies and he will need it to be voted by EESAC. Brianna Ash motioned to approve. Seconded by Timarie Banos. Approved at the discretion of the principal
 Milliken explained the purpose of the Impact Review to the students. Everyone did a great job presenting our school. Faculty meeting received a overall debrief and each teacher will received a detailed report individual
 He is expecting for the lower classmen to take more ownership of their education. We are all working to get better, and observations will continue to be done throughout the year.
 Praise the Homecoming Week participation from students and teachers. Overall it was amazing. Strong believer that social events at school are important and hopes to see it continue.

Martin suggested to have only a limited amount of copies present at meetings.

Next meeting will take place Nov 18, 2021 @ 2:45pm.
