II. Call to Order
*Mr. Perez called the EESAC Committee meeting to order at 2:30 p.m., on November 20, 2014, at International Studies Preparatory Academy at Gables (ISPA).
III. Roll Call
*Mr. Perez, Ms. Diaz, Ms. Rodriguez, Ms. Martinez, Ms. Lugo, Ms. Feiler, Ms. Bez, Ms. Pope, Ms. Luna, Ms. Ferrante, Ms. Medina, Mr. Weiner, Miss Antunez, and Mr. Vargas
IV. Approval of Minutes from October 2, 2014
*Mr. Weiner made a motion to approve the minutes, and Ms. Feiler seconded the motion.
* Minutes from, October 2, 2014 were approved by all members.
V. School Improvement Plan 2014-2015 Review and Updates
*Copies are available from Mr. Perez upon request.
*The region has approved ISPA’s SIP plan.
*During the month of January there will be a Mid-Year Review of the SIP.
VI. Recruitment Update
*The recruitment process for the 2015-2016 school year has already begun.
*Mr. Perez, Ms. Diaz, Ms. Calderon, and Ms. Martinez are all visiting local schools to promote ISPA and its programs.
*Three schools will be conducting school visits to the site.
*Currently we have 325 students enrolled. Next year, the goal for enrollment is between 375-85 students..
*Approximately 700 applications are expected this year.
VII. EESAC Funds/Distribution
*EESAC’s budget is $1,600 this year. The school receives $5.00 per student for the budget.
*Mr. Perez asked for suggestions on how to spend the EESAC funds from the committee.
*The committee voted unanimously to spend the entire budget of $1,600 for student incentives to be used at events such as, Honor Roll, Attendance Awards, The Honor Societies, The Ring Ceremony, and any other school related event.

VIII. PTSA Update
*The PTSA is organizing a Gala in order to fundraise for the school. The Gala is to take place on February 20, 2015. All proceeds will benefit the PTSA.
*There will also be a Silent Auction at the Gala, and it will be held at the Italian Consul’s home, Mr. Baratollo.
*A renowned artist will be present and will be donating a painting to the silent auction.
IX. New Business
*During the month of November both Mr. Perez and Ms. Martinez attended the Florida College Tour with a group of students. They visited a variety of Florida universities in three days. The students and teachers felt the trip was very fruitful.
*Our activities director, Ms. Acevedo is planning this year’s Winter Formal which is to take place on December 13, 2014.
*Our Music and Art Teachers are preparing a Holiday Show for all to enjoy.
*Our Humanities Department is putting together, ISPA FEST, Multicultural Day on December 12, 2014.
*Ms. Martinez, CAP Counselor, will be hosting a College Financial Aid Work Shop for parents on January 26, 2015.
*During Spring Break, a group of students will be visiting Spain.
*During the month of May, another group of students will attend Close-Up. Ms. Rodriguez expects that more students will attend this year due to the success of last year’s trip.
*Class trips this year will include Epcot, Busch Gardens, Animal Kingdom or Sea World, and Grad Bash.
*Other activities that are planned for this year include Prom, and The Senior Breakfast. The Prom will be held at The JW Marriot in downtown Miami.
X. Adjournment
*Ms. Rodriguez moved to adjourn the meeting, and Ms. Lugo seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 3:30 p.m.
