Ms. Ames called the meeting to order at 4:13 p.m.
Everyone welcomed Ms. Cooper as the newest member to EESAC. Corrections were made to the minutes of September 13, 2006 and September 25, 2006.
NEW BUSINESS:
EESAC members were elected at the staff meeting held on September 27, 2006.
Ms. Clarington, Ms. Bradman, Ms. Allen, and Ms. Russell were re-elected. Ms. Cooper and Ms. Pratt were newly elected to EESAC. Ms. Zashia Santiago is the new Student Government President and Ms. Jackie Washington is the new Student Government Vice President.
The new community representative is Ms. Natasha Valladares of Communities in Schools.
Mrs. King presented the school budget. She will bring the balance of the Title I program to the next meeting.
Mrs. King gave some additional information about the Title I budget. 15% ($7,373) was added to the Title I budget – resulting in a total of $49,155.00. Title I requires a minimum 1% of the budget to be spent on CIS Specialist (Ms. Desiree Fairweather).
Ms. Russell will revise the budget and get copies out to all EESAC members.
Ms. Ames said we had $1,620 in the EESAC budget this year and we need to decide on how to spend it.
Ms. Ames said she would like to use $200 for the Tots Olympics awards. It was motioned and seconded that she could have $200 for this purpose.
Ms. Clarington proposed buying FCAT incentives for the students.
Wrist bands – 150 @ $0.99 each $148.50
T-Shirts – 40 @ $10.00 each $400.00
Pencil/Hammer – 150 @ $0.56 each $ 84.00
Shipping and handling - $32.00 $ 32.00
Total $664.50
She also asked about getting peppermints and various other snacks for students on test days.
After much discussion, Ms. Allen motioned to split the remaining money between Ms. Clarington and Ms. Gilbert.
Members agreed to give Ms. Clarington $710 and Ms. Gilbert $710 for Media Center materials and supplies.
