EESAC Minutes
December 6, 2006
The meeting was opened at 8: 30 am by Chairperson Belkin. She asked if the minutes could be read because since they were not on the agenda. The minutes were read and it was properly motioned by Mr. Bueno and seconded by Ms. House that the minutes be approved. This occurred at 8:32 am.
We were told about the Edusoft training that was attended by Ms. Harris, Mrs. Freeman, Mrs. Belkin, Mrs. House, and Ms. Knowles that provided us with information and reports about the Interim Assessments.
Mr. Bueno informed us that he would like to meet with department heads to dissect the interim assessments. He would like to find out what questions that they got wrong. Department heads will submit in writing what could be done differently in order to make the scores better.
Ms. Belkin pointed out that several factors should be taken into account when determining what the students got wrong. Sometimes the wording is wrong, etc. Ms. Harris pointed out that we would place student copy of the individual results in each folder. This is a tool that could be used for growth comparison. Mr. Bueno stated that we are not teaching to the FCAT but maneuvering through it. There are three interim assessment tests and the next will be given in January.
There will be a school dance from 3:45-6:00 pm on December 14, 2006. Ms. Hobson asked if chaperones would be needed for the dance. Mr. Bueno explained that we were fine and for safety reasons, he is going to use the staff and faculty only. He thanked her for the offer.
