Welcome

Approval of previous minutes.
- Minutes from the previous meeting were approved.

Principal's message, Mrs. I. Artime.
- Carver continues to out-perform the District and State (i-Ready and F.A.S.T.)
- Science is stagnant but above the District and State
- PTSA funded BrainPop; excellent supplemental resource for Science.
- A look back regarding low enrollment; attributed to reduce birth rate, closing of the borders, private/charter.
- PTSA has pledged to assist with computer carts and turf behind the MLC.
- Science teacher recently resigned; we have contacted the Region and District for assistance.
- 2 eighth grade students will compete at the State Science Fair competition
- PTSA fundraiser (tickets to the Heat v Celtics)
- German students will participate in the DSD exam (March 10)
- Italian students will participate in an exam (03/10)
- Carver is participating in the e-waste drive. Several boxes are placed around campus for those wishes to donate,
- Carver has been selected to participate in the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) exam. 50 randomly selected 8th grade students will be administered the exam on 03/11.
- We have been acknowledging students throughout the year for demonstrating one of the core values at the Values Matters Luncheon.
- Reminded the committee that we currently have approximately $5000.00 in the EESAC account; the State is no longer funding EESAC.
- Ms. Artime made a motion to have $2500.00 of the EESAC funds moved to an internal funds account to be used for student awards and incentives; the
motion was seconded by Dr. Garcia. EESAC unanimously approved.

School Improvement Process (monitoring, implementation, review, etc.), Mr. S. Rivers, Assistant Principal.
- Mr. Rivers discussed Phase VI End-of-Year Implementation.
- District's Google Classroom Activity; Staff are encouraged to participate in the District's course offerings. Google Classroom will replace Schoology for the upcoming school year.
- EESAC approved the following
1. Labor Contract Waiver (no changes to existing Contract waiver)
2. Alternative Supplement Model Waiver (no changes to existing ASM waiver)
- Shared that the faculty voted to continue with a Block Schedule for the 2026-2027 school year.

Old/New business
- Mr. Sands elaborated on the trip to Washington D. C. (April 23rd - April 25th).
- S.T.E.A.M. visit was last month. Ms. Artime will share our school's status once she has
received confirmation from the District.
- Ms. Hernandez discussed the need to secure new uniforms for the track and field team.

*Announcements/Open Forum.
- Ms. Vinat (UTD Steward)
- Hoop-It-Up (March 19, 2026); intramural basketball game for 8th grade students.
- Possible changes to the school uniforms (to be discussed at the April 14th meeting).
- 6th grade field trip to Dave and Busters is planned for Friday, March 13.
- Annual Friends of Carver fundraiser is scheduled for April 25th.
- Hall of Fame inductee was recognized February 27, 2026.
