AGENDA

Welcome

Approval of previous minutes.

Principal's message, Mrs. I. Artime (Hornet Happenings)
- G. W. Carver Middle EESAC Budget Availability Report.
Ms. Artime spoke briefly about the EESAC budget.

- F.A.S.T. Testing.
Testing will start soon. As with all testing scenarios, we will keep school-wide interruptions to a
minimum. Data chats from previous assessments (i-Ready, F.A.S.T., district assessments) are
being held with the different departments.

- Uniforms (Shorts)
Ms. Artime spoke to the committee regarding school uniform. Students are continually violating
the uniform policy by wearing shorts that are the wrong fit. They also alter the shorts by rolling
them up (making them shorter). Addressing these issues takes away valuable instructional time.
Ms. Artime made a motion to eliminate shorts for the 2026-2027 school year. Her motion was
Seconded by Ms. Hernandez. The motion was carried by 9 yays. There were 2 abstentions.

- Friends of Carver (April 25th).

- School Improvement Process (monitoring, implementation, review, etc.), Mr. S. Rivers, Assistant Principal.
Mr. Rivers reminded the committee that we are continually reviewing the interventions and action steps of School I Improvement Process.
Mr. Rivers reminded the committee that The 2025-2026 School Climate Survey window ends May 08, 2026. Teachers, students, and parents are encouraged to complete the survey. Information from the surveys is used to inform school-wide, data driven, decision making.

- Old/New business
Digital Resources: Mr. Rivers informed the committee the 2024 Final Accreditation Report from Cognia identified
two areas of improvement for the District - standard 23 (related to digital resources); standard 27
(related to student engagement practices). General Education Sites, like Carver, are required to
submit evidence of a formalized plan to integrate digital resources into instruction. Mr. Rivers is
in the process of gathering the information to submit to the District.
