1. Call to order & establish quorum
a. Parent and staff representatives are present
i. EESAC committee members present: Betty Riera, Jenny Aguirre, Giselle Bernal, Vasiliki Grillas, Michelle Rivas, Carolina Vizcaino, Joey Casal, Pedro Camos, Marisol Gomez, Jenny Gonzalez, Rene Perez, Doris Tur, Ireti Akinde, Marlyce Mirabal, and Melissa Valladares
ii. Not present: Antonio Roca, Paul Gomez, Shadya Cisneros, and Carlos Alayon

2. Welcome to first EESAC meeting of the 2008-2009 school year

3. Update by Principal
a. Informed committee that the school was recognized as one of the top charter schools in the district
b. Recognition award funds for being an "A" school for the 2007-2008 school year
i. EESAC voted and agreed that the recognition funds will be distributed amongst all staff members as an incentive (see attachments)
ii. Early intervention program will begin soon and will be offered 2 times per week, in January it will be offered 3 times per week
iii. Science fair projects are being done once every 9 weeks
iv. Interim assessments will be used as an in-house assessment tool for all students in grades 3-5 (1st one will take place in January)
v. We are accepting some registrations for this school year in certain grade levels

4. Update/Concerns of parents
a. Lunch pavillion is under construction and should be ready for early 2009
b. Committee is pleased with the school's academic achievement

5. Closure
a. Next EESAC meeting will be November 25, 2008 @ 3:15 PM
