Official Business: Mrs. Gonzalez called the meeting to order at 10:15 a.m. She explained that this EESAC meeting necessary to discuss the change in the time of the school day for the 2010-2011 school year. The standard middle school time next year will be from 9:10 a.m. to 3:50 p.m. Carver has an extension of the school day and will begin at 9:05 a.m. and end at 3:50 p.m. A waiver is in place. Mrs. Gonzalez explained that this comes out to the same amount of time as our current school day, which ran from 9:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Teachers will report at 8:30 a.m. and leave at 3:50 p.m. Mrs. Gonzalez explained that the change is due to transportation expenses for the District. She said she will issue a connect-ed message to the homes of all students the week before school starts so that parents/guardians will be aware of the time change. Mrs. Stroleny added that FCAT scores have been delayed and are not yet available.
Approval of minutes: The minutes from May 18, 2010 were reviewed and approved.
Adjournment: Mrs. Gonzalez adjourned the meeting at 10:23 a.m.
