The meeting was called to order at 8:22 a.m. by Sandra Ames in the Media Center of Dorothy M. Wallace COPE Center.
The minutes from the meeting of September 13, 2010 were read and approved without changes.
Sandra Ames spoke to those in attendance about the Florida KidCare Program. She will be the school liaison. Parents can enroll online at the Parents Resource Center. We need to encourage our girls to enroll in this program.
Discussion was held about what snacks we would provide for the FCAT. It was agreed that we will buy mints, peanut butter crackers, juice, danish, and Sara Lee pound cake.
Mrs. Webb informed us that the School Board has changed the way we vote on dress code. Our dress code has been changed to allow students to wear boots. The dress code changes were agreed upon by those members present.
Mrs. Webb discussed the SIP Mid-Year Review. We don’t look like we’re moving in the right direction according to the scores. Ms. Cash said our reading scores don’t look good for the 10th graders. However, Grade 10 did show some increase in math and science.
Ms. Gilbert informed those present that she has several contests going on with the students. She also has started a book club to help students improve their reading skills.
Ms. Aviles read Ms. Patterson’s recommendation that the uniform be changed to khaki pants, navy blue COPE uniform tees, and gray front zip sweatshirts.
The next meeting will be on March 2, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. in the Room 71.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:16 a.m.
