1. Approval of Minutes: The EESAC minutes were approved.
2. School Improvement Plan (SIP) 2010-2011:
• The School Improvement Plan (SIP) End of Year Review/Guiding Questions were completed by each grade level. Each grade level met and provided recommendations in the areas of Reading, Mathematics, Writing, and Science. Specifically, the grade levels addressed the following questions:
o What adjustments to assessments, maintenance, and monitoring should be made in order to optimize student achievement?
o What adjustments to supplemental and intensive instruction/intervention, enrichment, and professional development do we need to make for the 2011-2012 school year?
o Minutes of this meeting must be posted by Friday, May 13, 2011.
• The Leadership Team will meet to discuss the recommendations.
• EESAC reviewed the documents.
3. School Operations:
Ms. Klein would like to thank Ms. Janell Ferguson, Assistant Principal, for all of her efforts in orchestrating a successful testing environment at Broadmoor Elementary School. She is to be commended.
4. Curriculum Issues:
The Leadership Team will implement a Writing Workshop in 3rd grade. Third grade students will take a pre-test on Tuesday & Wednesday (narrative and expository). Ms. Amparo Quintero, Reading Coach, will conduct the workshop in order to teach third grade students the basics of Writing so they are better prepared for fourth grade.
First and Second Grade: The bi-weekly assessments will emulate the Stanford test.
5. Budget:
EESAC has voted to acquire the Grab & Go Kits for Kindergarten through Fifth grade. Ms. Klein was able to find the kits at a more reasonable price.
6. Title I:
The Title I Pre-Audit was completed. No errors were found. Next year’s budget amount is not available at this time. Only $3.00 remain in this year’s supply budget.
7. New Business: no new business items.
8. Following a call for "Questions, Comments, and Concerns," the meeting was adjourned at 3:20 p.m.
