o Motion to approve minutes by Mrs. Calvo and seconded by Ms. Iglesias
o Minutes approved by all
o End of Course Exam (EOC) for Algebra I was cancelled and the students do not have to take the test in ninth grade.
o May 20th is the Fitness Day field trip at Kennedy Park with Miss Conto.
• School Improvement Plan Update
o End of year School Improvement Plan procedures were discussed
 Pending results from the 2011 FCAT 2.0 in order to complete SIP
 All other goals were discussed with committee
 Discussion for the 2011-2012 SIP – DRAFT
• Input and recommendations were initiated by all departments and teachers for inclusion into the 2011-2012 SIP.
• ISPA will submit SIP by June 16, 2011.
• Ms. Rodriguez and Ms. Iglesias attended the SIP training in May 2011.
• Adjustments will be made as needed for final submission at a later date.
• Construction update
o Construction is progressing and anticipated date of occupancy is set for mid-July.
o The windows are already installed
o Painting has begun inside the building on the second floor, third and fourth floor.
• Recruitment Update
o Recruitment continues and will continue through the summer to enroll more students into the school.
o The school will have approximately 100 students for the 2011-2012 school year.
o Connect-ed messages are being sent to selected students around the district about openings at ISPA.
• PTSA Update
o PTSA will be implementing new activities and events to attract more parents and students to join the PTSA.
• Mr. Perez discussed the School Improvement Plan (SIP) Process and timelines.
• Meeting was adjourned at 3:20 p.m.
