Topics Covered

The meeting was called to order at 8:15 a.m. by Sandra Ames in the Media Center of Dorothy M. Wallace COPE Center.

The minutes from the meeting held on December 15, 2011 was approved with no changes.

School Improvement Plan was reviewed. Data was discussed. Reading overall – students were not proficient. The Reading will have intervention sessions. No overall proficiency was made in Mathematics for the 7th grade. Overall proficiency was seen in the 8th grade Mathematics. However, Algebra I proficiency declined. In Science the 8th graders were not proficient. Students were not proficient in Biology either. Also, students were not proficient in Geometry, but learning gains are evident.

Will have Ms. Goins get Extended Learning from Ms. Aviles for Reading and Writing.

Ms. Russell will get changes to the SIP from Mrs. Goins.

Ms. Hadley stated that we need a new Student Government Association president.

Mrs. Webb said we need to find out how much it costs to put locks on the bathroom doors. Also, she will address CODE Yellow in the next staff meeting.

The next meeting will be announced at a later date.
