Topics Covered

The meeting was called to order at 8:20 a.m. by Sandra Ames in the Media Center of Dorothy M. Wallace COPE Center.

The minutes from the meeting held on April 25, 2012 was approved with no changes.

Ms. Ames held a discussion of how to spend the balance of the EESAC funds. One idea was to purchase flowers for the seniors for Awards Day.

Mrs. Webb opened the floor for discussion on the End of Year Review for the School Improvement Plan. The SIP is currently based on classroom assessments since no data is yet available.

Mr. Fair said he approved of the End of Year Review and recommendations for the SIP.

At the staff meeting on May 7, 2012, it was recommended to keep the Math strategies 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3 for the 2012-2013 school year. It was also recommended that we replace Math strategy 3.1. In the Science area it was recommended to keep strategies 1.1 and 1.2 and modify the instructional materials/resources (Achieve 3000-Biology units). In the Reading area it was recommended that we keep all the strategies. In the Writing area it was also recommended that we keep all the strategies currently in place.

The consensus was to keep the End of Year SIP with its modifications.

Ms. Gilbert gave an update on the Senior Dinner to be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012. She informed us that photos are included in the rental facility cost. Also there will be a live DJ, fresh flowers, and a cake.

Ms. Russell informed those present that she still has jump drives available for students.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:01 a.m.
