1. Approval of Minutes: Last month’s meeting minutes were reviewed and approved.
Ms. Klein welcomed the following guests to the meeting: Ms. Crystel Moore, 1st Grade Teacher, Mr. Roody Estriplet, 2nd Grade Teacher, Dr. Tanesha A. Sewell, 3rd Grade Teacher, Ms. Tameka Scott-Smith (UTD Alternate)/5th Grade Teacher, and Ms. Chantea Salley, 5th Grade Teacher.
2. Review bylaws and the updated roster:
The bylaws were reviewed by the members. The updated roster was also reviewed. Roster was updated to reflect the changes voted upon at the last meeting.
3. SIP Reviews/Updates:
The 2012-2013 School Improvement Plan (SIP) was reviewed. Goals and Strategies were discussed by the committee. The SIP will be sent to the Region for review. After it is approved by the Region, it will be uploaded. After the SIP is approved, the grade level chairpersons will receive a copy.
4. RtI/Leadership Team Reviews/Updates:
Intervention schedules are being drafted. Interventions will be determined by the F.A.I.R. testing results.
5. Title I Parent Involvement Plan (PIP):
The School Parent Compact Evaluations/Reviews were discussed by the committee.
6. Open Forum Discussion:
School Operations
School Operations notified Ms. Klein over the weekend that a basic position has been generated. There will be changes forthcoming.
Curriculum Issues
Textbooks are on order. If you need textbooks, please notify Ms. Klein in writing. The only textbooks that are available are in Reading and Math.
All 3-5 graders have been F.A.I.R. tested.
Kindergarten is almost finished with F.A.I.R. testing.
First and Second graders are near completion.
Reports will be printed and intervention schedules will be forthcoming.
Data Chat schedules will also be forthcoming. Please see your grade level chairperson for more information.
7. Budget Reviews/Updates:
Budget Conferences will be held September 24, 2012. Funding will be determined at that time.
8. Title I: no new Title I items.
9. New Business: no new business items.
10. Comments/Concerns: There are no comments/concerns from parents.
Question (Sewell): How did we get cameras?
Answer (Klein): This was a District initiative.
Comment (Prieto): I would like to thank Ms. Smith for providing everyone with a copy of the “Scientific Method”.
Reply (Scott-Smith): Every teacher received a set. Please make sure that you are referring to it often.
