6. Open Forum/Discussion
School Operations: Third and Fourth Grade have been departmentalized. Instructional Routines should be in place as teachers become acclimated with their new schedules and students. In the end, students at Broadmoor will benefit from these changes.
Curriculum Issues: If you are teaching Reading/Language Arts, please plan to attend the workshops that are being offered that explain the new Reading series. There are many that are offered after hours and on the weekends. It is difficult to accommodate so many teachers during working hours because of scarce substitute coverage.
F.A.I.R. testing has been completed school wide. Thank you to all staff members for your hard work.
7. Budget: Ms. Barroso, School Secretary, has ordered sound equipment for the cafeteria using last year’s budget. After the 2013-2014 budget has been allocated, the committee will vote on using these funds to buy ELMO document projectors for Kindergarten and First Grade.
8. Title I: Title I information was disseminated at Open House Night. There will be a Title I Orientation Meeting next week. This is also part of the SIP.
9. New Business: No items.
10. Comments/Concerns:
Ms. Joanne Welch, UTD Steward, would like to remind everyone to bring in Box Tops for Education.
