3. Welcome to 1st EESAC meeting of the 2013-2014 school year
4. Update by Principal
a. A+ school for the 9th consecutive year
• 3rd graders ranked second in the district in FCAT Math
• 4th graders ranked 3rd in the district in FCAT Math
• 5th graders ranked 5th in the district in FCAT Science
• Designated a High Performing Elementary School
b. new school website www.matereast.org
c. current enrollment at 641
d. We are still accepting waiting list applications for certain grade levels.
e. Early intervention program started on September 30, 2013 for qualifying students in grades 2nd-5th.
f. Open House took place on September 25, 2013
g. M.A.E. re-enters partnerships with the following organizations for the 2013-2014:
• Jose Marti Park
• McDonald’s Restaurant
• Amigos for Kids
• Common Threads
• Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne-Succeed Through Service Program
• Publix Supermarket
• Miami Museum of Science
5. Recognition award funds for being an “A” school for the 2012-2013 school year
i. EESAC voted and agreed that FSRP funds will be distributed amongst all staff members as an incentive when funds are available.
ii. Student reward for all students scoring a 3 or higher on all areas of the FCAT 2.0 will go on annual fieldtrip to Walt Disney World
iii. Student reward for all students scoring a 5 or higher on all areas of the FCAT 2.0 will be a $500.00 gift card.
e. Hispanic Heritage Festival will take place on October 16,2013.
6.Update by EESAC members
a. SIP was reviewed by EESAC members prior to attending SIP Peer Review Meeting
b. EESAC roster approved by members
c. EESAC members voted and agreed to use EESAC funds to purchase afterschool tutoring materials
d. EESAC members reviewed and approved By Laws
e. McDonalds Back to School Night Fundraiser took place August 27th
7.Closure
