Parents were given procedures for contacting and participating on the EESAC and information was also distributed. The EESAC members were introduced and parents/guardians were invited to become members.

The times of the meetings vary according to availability of a majority of the members.

The minutes from the August 27, 2013 and September 17, 2013 EESAC meetings were reviewed. Upon review, the minutes were approved with changes.

Old Business:

SIP Review and Approval-
Mrs. Goins was introduced in her capacity as Test Chairperson for Dorothy M. Wallace COPE Center. She explained her duties in brief and went on to explain how the results of the various tests drive the School Improvement Plan (SIP) for our school. This document (which is mandated by the Florida Department of Education) explains testing data outcomes in the beginning, mid-year and end of year which in turn allows adjustments to be made to the SIP because it is a “living document”.
The following was emphasized:
1. Purpose of the SIP
2. Process the district use to develop the SIP
3. Pertinent 2013-2014 data and goal setting information
4. Ongoing monitoring and adjustments

New Business:

An election was held for the parents to elect who their representatives would be on the 2013-2014 EESAC. Approximately 12 parents made a commitment to participate.

Parents/guardians were informed that the next meeting will be held on October 1, 2013 at 8:00 a.m. to approve the final SIP document prior to uploading to the state.

The EESAC meeting was adjourned at 6:30 p.m.
