OLD BUSINESS:
Mrs. King informed the group that the Sterling Site Committee will be here the week of March 15, 2004.
On January 15, 2004 the Brain Bowl will be held. Staff will split into teams. This will last for 30 minutes. This is a review of what we should already know.
The monitors for this contest will be Mrs. Joseph-Goins, Mrs. Ames, Mrs. Clarington and Ms. Allen. The moderators will be Ms. McKay, Mrs. Bradman and Mr. McIntyre.
PDSA (Plan, Do, Study, Act) will be one hour. An explanation of what it is will be given.
Mrs. King suggested that we role play a problem and use PDSA to solve it.
Mrs. Clarington suggested we do a short PowerPoint presentation.
Mrs. Bradman suggested doing a PDSA on a real problem (ex: shortened clinic hours and FCAT prep, disrespectful students).
Mrs. Clarington also suggested we do PDSA – perhaps make a list of myths about CHI.
Mr. McIntyre said we need to talk to CHI about the procedures for CHI and COPE.
Mrs. Ippolito, Pat Johnson and Desiree Fairweather will role play about the clinic and CHI babies.
Mrs. Clarington will give an introduction to PDSA.
OTHER CONCERNS: On the Assess2Learn they have added more tests – by grade level.
We can use the Midyear Review at the 10th and 12th grade levels.
The third 9 weeks will do individual grade level.
The 2004 Sterling Conference will be held in Orlando from June 6 – 11, 2004.
The next meeting will be February 11, 2004 at 4:10 p.m.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:35 p.m.
