RTI/Leadership Teams Reviews/Updates
Our school psychologist is very strict about the RTI process. We have 14 students in fifth grade exiting our ESE program next school year and we currently have 14 open cases that we need to review and close. Please make sure that we are doing our Tier 3 Interventions with fidelity in order to present strong cases to the psychologist. (Riaz)
I spoke to Ms. Rodriguez about a few students in my class that I need to refer with no prior documentation of the RTI process started. She told me to wait until the next I-READY Diagnostic to begin the referral process and submit the RTI Packets as soon as possible to her. (Jerry)
Open Forum/ Discussions
School operations
Not much has changed. We are a Tier 2 school with continued ETO support. We continue to move forward. Please look at this week’s Bee’s Bulletin for resources to address anxiety levels of students because the election results. Address any concerns of students regarding parents top Ms. Alexander/ Ms. Schevis.(Riaz)
Curriculum issues
The district is mandating that we at least do 45 minutes of I-ready reading and math a week on average
. Grade level chairs were given the Broadmoor Dashboard to share with their team in order to see their average and increase their I-Ready time on task and percentage of passing lessons. (Riaz)
We are currently holding an I-Ready contest that can have four possible winners. One for the highest time on task for reading. One for the highest passing rate for reading, one for the highest time on task for math and one for the highest passing rate for math. The classes will earn a kite flying party.(Quintero)
The pre-k teachers went to a pre-k workshop in which the teachers received laptops and training. Teachers can use success maker for science, social studies, and math. They can use image learning for reading and ABC Mouse as well. Students are learning how to log in to their portal. In order to receive the laptops parents must come to the workshop. (Welch)
Budget and Personnel Reviews/Updates
We have just received our funds on November 1st, 2016. The first priority is to purchase another laptop cart to reduce the student to laptop ratio. As we get more money the laptop carts will be trickled down to primary. We have a new Spanish teacher called Ms.Corredera. she will provide math push in support to grades k-5. She’s here Monday, Tuesdays and Wednesdays only. We lost our gifted allocation and this year gifted will be serviced through push in support on Thursdays and Fridays. (Riaz)
How many carts can we buy a year? (Jerry)
About one per year but I will look into it and keep you posted.(Riaz)
Title I
Everything is amazing. (Rosario)
We have been chosen as a pilot school for a new position called Family Support specialist. This will be an hourly position filled in by Ms. Margarita Valladares. She will support Ms. Rosario in Title I Business and to support parents. If this program is successful, the amount of hours will be increased for this position and started in other schools. (Riaz)
We are also honored to host the PAC/Parental advisory committee DAC/District advisory committee on November 17, 2016. (Rosario)

New Business
We have received praise from DR. Cruz Sanchez the Line Director for the professional development that was held in our school on November 8th, 2016. The region superintendent is very pleased. (Riaz)

Comments/ Concerns:
Wireless issue resolved. Please make sure you do not use the EXPLORE wires network unless it is a district owned device. Be cognitient. The EXPLORE wireless network is not secure and can compromise your device. Just connect to the DADESCHOOLS wireless network. (Riaz)
We did a great job resolving our issue with pests. Now what can we do about the Bahamian lizards? (Jerry)
There is a powder that will get rid of them. We will look into it. (Riaz)
A survey went out to request laptops. Please complete the survey as soon as possible so we can distribute them. (Riaz)
