II. Call to Order
a. Ms. Deanna Rodriguez, EESAC Chairperson, called the EESAC Committee meeting to order at 2:30pm on April 5, 2017, at International Studies Preparatory Academy at Gables (ISPA).
III. Roll Call – certain members were absent from the meeting.
IV. Approval of Minutes from January 12, 2017
a. Ms. Bez made a motion to approve the minutes, and Ms. Feiler seconded the motion.
b. Minutes from January 12, 2017 were approved unanimously.
V. School Improvement Plan 2016-2017
a. The 2016 – 2017 SIP was reviewed and no updated are required, at this time.
b. More information forthcoming in May.
VI. End of Year Activities
a. Graduation will be on June 7, 2017 at 7:30 pm.
b. Venue has been changed to South Miami Cultural Arts Center.
c. Students will receive, on average, 7 to 8 tickets for the event.
d. Italian, French, and Spanish Consulates will attend.
e. Gradbash for Seniors is April 28, 2017; prom will be on May 5, 2017
f. College Signing Day is on May 18, 2017.
g. End of year trips include Epcot for 9th grade students, Bush Gardens for 10th grade students, and Magic Kingdom for 11th grade students.
VII. General Information
a. Spring 2017 testing will begin April 17, 2017, upon return from Spring Break.
b. Testing is scheduled to end on May 17, 2017.
c. Final EESAC meeting for the 2016-2017 school year will be held in mid-May.
VIII. PTSA Update
a. Administrative Professionals Week will be celebrated the second week after Spring Break.
b. There will be several events to honor our office staff.
c. Teacher Appreciation Week will be held in May.
IX. New Business
a. Ms. Martinez is organizing to have a Kaplan class held at ISPA, twice a week from 3 – 3:30 pm.
b. There needs to be a minimum of 25 students enrolled, for Kaplan to come offer the class.
c. The cost is $333 per student.
X. Adjournment
a. Ms. Feiler moved to adjourn the meeting and Ms. Bez seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 3:10pm.
